As a fan of De Moor's Chablis for many years, I could smell that suave, gentle minerality, coy yellow apple, and Meyer-lemon fruit. This is a bright wine with soft corners. It is a clean, natural wine—pure, like the label says. |

Seckinger have found a more noble purpose for their vines in the Maikammer Kapellenberg, and produce their top Chardonnay from it. Decanted two hours in advance. Lovely acidity, firm and fresh and ripe, white nuts and orchard fruit, clearly noticeable but well-defined new oak, elegant weight (12% ABV), slightly resinous finish. Solid performance, but I guess we're still looking for real finesse here. |
