Columbia Valley Red Bordeaux Blend more

14.8% abv. Purchased from a "mystery pack" at a recent auction. 67% Petite Verdot, 33% Malbec. Only 76 cases produced. Cork came out in one piece and was barely stained at all.
Very good showing, as this was open and generous (unlike the note from 2012). Unfiltered fleshy mouthfeel, as evidenced with lots of fine, suspended particulates. Rich and ripe fruit with plenty of depth that was fully integrated in a way that only age can bring. Plenty of tart acidity, falling just short of aggressive, but this gave freshness and lift, especially on the second day (vacuum sealed overnight at room temp). Flavor profile speaks of Bordeaux, but with telltale new world ripeness. Really enjoyed this. In a great spot now, but should hold for a few more years at least if well stored.

This wine was delicious even at 2022. Great minerality yet the fruit still came through. 2007 was an excellent vintage year for Washington.

Starting to decline, still good with food, but fruit feels as if it’s retreating. Possibly a bottle variation as the last one we opened a few months ago was better.

Better than the last one we opened, this one still had good fruit and color, and no harshness. This one was cellared at perfect temp and humidity since purchased, may have made the difference.

Probably held too long. Not bad, but has lost most of its freshness and fruit.

Drinking well with a couple of hours decant. Lasted well for second night, although fruit thins out over night. Happy to have a few left, I think they have about two more years of life left. The 2011s are proving to be reliably good agers in general.

Hitting its stride, drinking very well with a few hours decant. First night, 4 hr decant, still great fruit, nice balance, tannins mellow and silky. Second night still holding up nicely.

Drinking well now. Did a 6hr decant, smooth, fruit still great, soft tannins. Lasted well over three nights, paired with lamb first night, pasta second, and just enjoying with snacks on third.

Agree with Tosti-Lane, it's losing it's fruit and has gotten past it's prime. The first night the cork crumbled and the wine had an off-taste. Put it into the fridge with a vacu-vin and it was better the next day. I would definitely drink now if I had it and decant for a while before drinking

On the downslope- ok on first night, but fruit is thin and its edging toward bitter - not really drinkable second night.

I've always maintained the WWC wines have held up well over time and this one is no exception. This is definitely worth checking out now, but I think it will easily last at least another two years in the bottle.

Sappy black and red fruits, lush herbs and fine tannins. The wine fills the mouth, and has a sweet lasting finish of more herbs and black currant. Well balanced, everything seems in place, but the wine doesn't seem like it's going anywhere further. Probably best to drink in the next few years.
