It's oakey, sherbet, hickory, but not full of fruity flavours. A unique wine, overtones of a good brandy, smooth. very enjoyable. |

A kickback similar to cognac ... kind of. Suggesting a slightly hot finish. Certainly fine wine .. Enjoyed on Jims Birthday. |

Very smooth and silky mouth feel, popped and poured within 5 minutes with no hint of bitterness. It developed well in the glass. This wine is well balanced and very well made. Elegant and smooth cherry fruits, strawberry, fine tannins. The acidity is mouthwatering but with no hint of sharpness. We enjoyed this distinctively new world fine wine. |

On the taste it is instantly smooth, beautifully balanced, simplicity is it's strength. A mix of sweet dark and red fruits. Extremely well made in a new world style. Definitely a good wine moment. |

6/22/2011 - martinnugent wrote: 92 pointsBottle purchased with the guys after a big big session the night before. Dropped into the local wine merchants and shared the price. Sat down to enjoy this wine on an English summers day in the garden. On opening the bottle I was delighted with a beautiful aroma of fresh black fruits and cigar box notes. Complex and enchanting. It wasn't the turbo charged blockbuster I was expecting from this wine. The emphasis seemed more on elegance and finesse than power. It rolled over the palate. Creating and developing to one of the most enjoyable wines I have tasted this summer. Will I buy another bottle at this price ....... |

7/22/2011 - martinnugent wrote: 85 pointsQuite an interesting wine. Given as a gift from a family in the region. Cab Franc and Pinot Noir blend. Cab francs not my favourite grape. I expected this little chappy to be a bit flabby and lacking in definition. On the nose the pinot noir bouquet pulled forth with surprisingly nice hints of cherry with slightly rustic barnyard aromas. On tasting a smooth, silky drop that settles well on the mid palate. Bright fruit flavours that made for an enjoyable and interesting drink. |
