4/17/2024 - Manuaia wrote: 92 pointsHoly crap this is good. 15 bucks at Costco I don’t think I’ve had a better $15 bottle of wine in a while. Blend of mostly Merlot syrah and sangiovese. A great balance between old world and New World deep, dark red purple fruits, fresh fruit not baked fruit. This is worth buying a case and drinking it over a year Bonded Winery 113 how cool is that? |

4/2/2024 - Manuaia wrote: 92 pointsYum. I can drink a lot of this. An above average producer that sells his wine below average cost. Big, juicy, upfront, purple and red fruits. great acidity, a little bit of tannin. Upper $20s. |

3/28/2024 - Manuaia wrote: 92 pointsDelicious Rioja. decanted an hour. fruit just starting to peek out. Slightly tannic, cedar box , pencil lead. Plum cherry, still so youthful at 16 yrs old. Fruit flavors are not even close to being secondary and are still vibrantly fresh Gonna drink half the bottle tonight and half tomorrow. Significantly more times than not I like bosconia more than tondonia. If you are young and new to collecting wine, it would be criminal if you did not buy a handful of bottles of heredia bosconia upon release and drink it years later. There’s not many wines in the wine universe you can buy at these prices that are already aged upon release and then age beautifully for an eternity. |

2/23/2024 - Manuaia wrote: NRAlways pretty nasty upon opening. Wet wool and dirty barrel notes. But a half hour in things always change. In my experience with these I find it best to have a half a glass on day one, a glass on day two and then three four and five. It’s absolutely fascinating of how this wine changes and crazy how it doesn’t really oxidize. I’ll update the next few days. Day 2: Not much different. oak and tannin a little bit of lime. Nuts. Delicious now but barely opening up. Mandatory its tasted at cellar temperature. Never made it past day 2… |

2/17/2024 - Manuaia wrote: 86 pointsCorrect wine. No flaws. Slightly thin. Somewhat sterile. Is it even remotely gigondas? No. Is it worth $14. Yes. Guigal cdr right next to the bin in costco for roughly the same price is more interesting and better. |

2004 Mount Eden Vineyards Cabernet SauvignonSanta Cruz Mountains more |
9/2/2023 - Manuaia Likes this wine: 93 pointsBarely browning at the edges. A solid 30 min to open up just starting to get secondary fruit flavors. Black cherry, chocolate, weedy, just a hint of barnyard and Band-Aid. A mix between Napa and Bordeaux. 2 hrs in and the wine is really starting to sing. Dense. Great acidity. Chocolate, dust , some sort of lighter fruit? , a hint of orange / chocolate. |

8/11/2023 - Manuaia Likes this wine: 90 pointsI used to sell this wine 30 years ago. And it’s exactly the same except more expensive. It used to say macon vire on the label. I think you could find this for about $14 on the shelf. It always had a sweetness to it that would turn off hard-core burgundy drinkers but was always an incredible value. Was shocked when I saw it at Costco For $36. Rich tropical fruit, dense. A califoria chard drinkers burgundy. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

8/7/2023 - Manuaia wrote: 89 pointsUp front fruit now taking a backseat. I don’t have a history with this wine, but it seems like it’s going into a dumb phase. fruit is muted tannins and acidity more prevalent. Not sure if id buy this again. |

8/3/2023 - Manuaia wrote: NRLike chat du pape and beaujolais had a baby. reduced upon opening but came together after an hour. Chaparral ,rosemary, roasted fresh fuit ,purple flowers. Rustic yet fresh almost carbonic. Really fun wine. Wines shouldnt age well but should be in the perfect window in 2-5 years when the rough tannic edges iron out. Very similar to past vintages ive had. |

5/11/2023 - Manuaia Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis wind really turned the corner from the last time I had it a couple years ago. I don’t think I would pick chinon but more a really good New World cab Franc. 1 hour in and its really starting to sing. Black cherry, red bell pepper still significant tannin. I have a few bottles left. It’ll be wonderful to taste in three or four more years. I’m drinking half the bottle tonight the other half tomorrow. |

4/25/2023 - Manuaia Likes this wine: 91 pointsGot the classic lemon curd thing. Slightly creamy. Pretty. A wonderful freshness to the wine that i wasnt expecting. Oak pretty prevelent upon opening but this should integrate soon. Better than the 2014 but not as good as the 12 or 13 imo |

The citrus lemon curd thing i get with these wines is getting closer to butter scotch. Lets see what its like tomorrow. |

1/13/2023 - Manuaia wrote: 92 pointsLemon custard, brine , key lime, slight hint of oak slightly oxidative high acidity and hints of sherry notes which makes sense after reading a previous review where 5% IS added sherry. Wine needs at least an hour to open up and is essential its served at cellar temperature. Wine is a bit cerebral and not for everyone. I love it |

12/9/2022 - Manuaia wrote: 92 pointsHoly crap this is good. I could drink a lot of this. This isnt top tier priorat but its very good priorat for a stupid price of $20 at costco. Usually Good priorat starts at $40 and goes well north of that. I Went back to buy a bunch but it was gone. Damn. Fresh crunchy red purple fruit , asphalt , slightly tanniic in a good way , crazy good acidity. Great intoduction into spanish wine. Everyone reading this should buy a case and drink over the next 2-3 years ( if you can find this at costco ). Who cares if it ages well, its spectacular right now. |
