1/4/2013 - MightyMike Likes this wine: 93 pointsDark red, nose of vanilla and blackberries. Full palate of vanilla, leather, dark berries. Totally integrated and my best experience of the wine so far. |

12/22/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsA nice balance and texture with cherries, dark berries and black pepper. Elegant and rich on the palate but a surprisingly short finish. Drank decanted after one hour during a three hour session which perhaps should have been longer as the wine sort of faded away. |

11/23/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 92 pointsSadly enough my last bottle but also probably the best. Peach and slightly sweet fruit and at the same time citrus and acidity. Very well balanced with a medium body. |

11/6/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 92 pointsDecanted 3 hours + drinking time. Quite dark red still. Dark berries, leather very well integrated and balanced. Full body, but also good balance of acids, very smooth texture. A splendid wine with probably some more potential. |

6/8/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsThe first wine I have ever tasted that tastes of birch leaves - the early ones when they are the size of mouse-ears and have a sticky juice to them. Good for spicing up schnaps but apparantly also for wine...! Medium body and fruit, red berries and herbs. An interesting wine with unique flavors but perhaps not easy to match with food as there is something almost "chemical" going on there. |

5/11/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 94 pointsSoft red almost terracotta color. Decanted for 2,5 hours. Nose of cherries, spice. Very smooth and balanced. Fruit but not overripe and very good balance of acidity - red berries NOT dark, cherry, minerals. Absolutely fantastic! |

2/17/2012 - MightyMike wrote: 93 pointsDecanted for about two hours. Lots of fruit and high level of alcohol, still very well balanced and just the sort of modern style everyone must like. Lots of dark berries, leather and maybe some vanilla. I think the overall judgemnt still must be smooth, rich and balanced. |

12/7/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 91 pointsModern style with lots of fruit, can be taken for an Aussie shiraz or a Spanish garnacha. Dark berries, leather full body and well integrated. No big difference between first and second day. Still I believe there is som further potential with ageing. |

10/22/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsQuite different to 2,5 years ago - my conclusion is that the previous bottle was indeed flawed. Light red/brown colour, mostly berries and some earth with medium body and a medium long finish. Quite enjoyable for a PN with good balance. |

10/14/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsAn interesting combination of very flowery nose but at the same time a highly acid finish. Reasonably good balance stlll. Hints of peach, orange and minerals as well. Difficult to sense what to pair the wine with as the nose has so much flowers as to more or less disqualify with or example fish, but at the same time acids do not make it a true garden party winner either. A good wine but drink with intelligence... |

9/27/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsI think the decant and pair with meat or wait 5-10 years comment is a very good review I subscribe to. Lots of dark fruit, oak, leather but also heavy alcohol however still too dominated by tannins not to be described as disjoint without pairing. Behind there is all the stuff you want so better wait and see... |

9/17/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 92 pointsWow - compared to 2,5 years ago this has come together in an fantastic way. Dark berries, leather, earth with a full body and great balance between fruit and acids. Now this is a gentle merlot that you hope will last forever versus last time when tannins were very rough and dominating. Sad I did not have more than two bottles. |

8/7/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 90 pointsStill very dark red, cherries, a touch of black currant and also raisins - almost like an Amarone Light... Acidity quite intense initially, dominant cherries/raisins but not fully integrated. After a couple of hours this started to be really nice with a more snooth texture and better balance. Needs decanting. |

7/26/2011 - MightyMike wrote: 91 pointsStill a very smooth ride entering this wine. Compared to 16 months ago acids were more tangible in this bottle/at this time. I felt the wine had come into a phase where more time would settle it down again. Not as good as the previous bottle but at the same time more traditional Sangiovese style with a bit lighter body, more acids/tannins and less pronounced vanilla. Bottom line a very good wine and I really face the problem of trying to understand whether the wine has changed in the course of time or whether my taste has. |
