2/26/2021 - tophcooks Likes this wine: NRGreat williamette Pinot noir from a small family owned farm. I am biased because I am club member. This is not entry level Pinot. Nor is it the highest end Pinot. It is well priced and overall exceptional value. This was on last bottle for an amazing deal but I happily pay my club discounted price normally. J block is volcanic soil. Great minerality. Screw closure so give it some air and the savory notes will blossom. |

1/1/2020 - tophcooks Does not like this wine: NRThis is a really basic Syrah with minimal character. The viognier co-ferment is a nice thought a la northern Rhône but the wine overall falls short. Quite flabby and lacking acidity. This is consistent with my master theory about CsM wines. Their mid and higher end reds have poor qpr and are generally uninteresting. Their mid and higher end whites are often fantastic. |

11/8/2019 - tophcooks Likes this wine: NRVery interesting. 1/3 each zin/petite sirah/carignane Initially opened up in 30 mins or so with pleasant jammy Zinfandel fruit. Then changed to aggressive bumpy persistent young Barolo-like tannins probably from the petite sirah. Vacuum sealed overnight and delicious and mellow the next day with a little carignane pyrazine. I don’t think the QPR was quite there for me but it was enjoyable. I have another 15 and 2 16s so I will see how these evolve |
