Impressions of quality Burgundy, with the white pepper, dried herb, and ash notes that pervade excellent quality Etna reds, notably on Nerello Mascalese. Well structured, rounded, and balanced.

A decent pizza/pasta wine. Mix of tart red fruits and spice. Good acidity. Perhaps a bit thin on the mouthfeel and finish. Overall, solid for the price paid but a bit lacking in comparison to other entry level etna rosso wines I have had.

Colorful description from our friends at Invino, had to post>
"90% nerello mascalese and 10% nerello cappuccio – both local varieties that essentially don’t exist off the island. The wines made there are like nowhere else… the red floral notes of Burgundy, the savory meatiness and black and blue fruits of Northern Rhone, underscored by the inky iron and graphite minerality of Bordeaux...all in perfect, supple harmony."
none in my cellar but considering at $20, good QPR?
