Classic Bordeaux nose of cassis and vanilla. Color was still very deep with just a little amber on the rim. All the tannins had softened and no apparrent acid; but not yet flabbby. Excellent accompaniment to a old-fashioned steak dinner following a couple of martinis. |

Rim was starting to turn amber but good color remained. Good fruit throughout, excellent balance and just a hint of remaining tannin and acid in the finish. At the end of the dinner (about 2 and one-half hours ofter decanting) the wine sarted to lose some fruit in the middle of the wine. Had it not been for that, the score would have been higher. |
