2003 Château Pontet-CanetPauillac Red Bordeaux Blend more |
3/16/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NRBeautiful. The book says it is only a fifth growth but after many vintages drunk this is way better than that. Bought this bottle on release at $60. Looks like you can get it now around $125. Such a deal. Classic Bordeaux on the nose and in the mouth. Get a steak and this bottle and enjoy life. 7 people found this helpful, do you? 3/16/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NROk - drinking again, one year later. This time with spaghetti and meatballs. I am telling you this is a great wine especially at the price. Fairly easy to get in the US but will be headed to Chile later this fall. Chilean wine not necessarily the best wines across the board but some are just outstanding including this one. Try it! If you have some drink some now but certainly has several years to go. |

2013 Paul Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos St. JeanChardonnay more |
2/10/2024 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: 94 pointsLucky me! Drank this against a 2012 Chassagne Montrachet Les Caillerets Paul Pillot. This is the better wine. Much lighter in color than the 2012. But beautiful all the way around and I would say a relative bargain for the taste. I would be drinking both now but definitely need to drink the 2012 at this point. |

2005 Château Larcis DucasseSt. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend more |
3/1/2024 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: 94 pointsOpened about 30 min ago. Wife is making a red sauce for dinner. So the smells in the kitchen are great. Stuck my nose in it for a quick whiff. Beautiful. And I’ll agree with a previous post, no sign of age. (Well there is some aging here but this wine has quite a ways to go but so far awesome). I’ll be back in an hour or so! |

2003 Château LascombesMargaux Red Bordeaux Blend more |
2/27/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NRDrinking with a steak. Very nice, but damn I should have drank this two years ago or more. Comparing against a giscours 2005 I just drank in front of this. This bouquet not as good but tastes a little better. Again disappointed in myself for not already drinking it. People drink these wines! To be fair no decant. 1 person found this helpful, do you? 2005 Château GiscoursMargaux Red Bordeaux Blend more |
2/27/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: 93 pointsAh very nice. Getting ready for a steak. Disagree with a previous note, the bouquet is all Margaux, and still pretty good. But in the mouth starting to fade. Drink it now! I know it’s hard to drink a 2005 as you think it only gets better with age as this was a great year. Well it doesn’t. |

2/6/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NRWow! Just finished a nice Italian dinner with friends and some great Brunello and barola. Well back to the house and this blows that away. Too cold right now and too young. Easy has 10 years to go but surely enjoying it. Have more. But need to remember this. |

1/27/2024 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: NRI think this is better than the other guy. I’d say 90 points. Has that classic California chard vibe. Very bright with good color and nose. A little bitterness on the backend. Getting there. |

1/24/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NRDon’t remember what I paid for this but looks like you can still get it for around $50. Definitely worth every penny. Drank with a nice steak at home with some friends. Perfect evening. Drink now or hold for a bit. |

1/24/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: NRWow! Steak with chimichurri sauce for dinner and this wine. Do you like Bordeaux? You have to try this Bordeaux blend heavy on the Carmenere but includes the cab sav and Merlot. Certainly my favorite Chilean red wine. At 10 years old this was at its peak. Good value in my mind as well. |

1/23/2024 - Tom’s Notes wrote: 96 pointsLighter in body and color than what you think about Chardonnay. Drank tonight after a hard Tuesday of skiing with some Mu Shu pork my wife made. Perfect for the circumstances. I actually buy quite a bit of this wine for everyday drinking. You won’t be disappointed. Disclaimer - I visited the Jadot office in Beaune last summer. Great people that care about the product at all levels. |

2019 Château Langoa BartonSt. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend more |
1/22/2024 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: 90 pointsMy wife picked this out of the cellar. Too young for me. I’d give it at least 10 more years. Langoa Barton is a classic Bordeaux in taste, color etc. For me it has that beautiful Bordeaux nose. Nothing better than a sniff of this. I have many across several vintages. Will buy Langoa all day long for a great value. For this one, given the price, hold for 10 years and enjoy the fruits of picking a reasonably priced wine that will be incredible with a meal, and impress a friend. 2 people found this helpful, do you? 2018 San Filippo Brunello di Montalcino Le LucereSangiovese more |
11/3/2023 - Tom’s Notes Likes this wine: 91 pointsDrank a little while making pasta, poured a little into the sauce. Solid wine, tastes really nice right now but I am thinking at least 3 to 5 years. Met the owner in Florence and he set me up with the current winemaker at the winery. Super nice young maker that was very knowledgeable. I think the price point represents value for this food wine! |
