Definitely a bit funky on the nose and palate right after popping. Nice acidity. A bit green for my taste, but notes of honey made it interesting.

2017 AniChe Cellars Albariño Come & Go

Yakima Valley more

10/20/2018 - Lampornis Likes this wine: NR

From the winery:

Come & Go is one of our only 100% varietal wine. This mineraly and dry Albariño comes from Dutchman Vineyards in Grandview, WA. Come & Go has tropical notes, with a hint of peach, and finishes with mojito freshness.

Pairs best with Oysters, Shellfish, Spicy Curries and Fish Tacos!

From the winery:

Sirius is a blend of 52% Dolcetto, 30% Barbera and 18% Zinfandel from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Aromas of dried oregano, tomato, black olive and porchetta. Medium bodied, medium tannin. This is our pizza wine! With a lot of ripe cooked fruit and a crisp finish this wine is excellently to paired with spicy and bold dishes.

6/14/21. All I can taste right now is alcohol. Maybe an off bottle or just in a weird funk right now. I'm marking it as flawed because based on my prior experience marking "i don't like it" is not appropriate but I can't say this bottle is "neutral" or "I like it" either. I thought this wine would have aged fine until now but maybe not. I drank a bottle last fall and it was good. Would be interested to know what others think if you have some in your cellar.

Columbia Valley Tempranillo Blend, Tempranillo more

2/11/2021 - La Randonnee Likes this wine: NR

Cork seemed delicate but was not soaked; seemed to be a good seal.
Fairly mushroomy aroma with tabac, and toasted wood. Hints caramel, black and poss some blue fruits.
Entry is smooth and quite fruity (more than expect from age?), full textured mid palate transitioning to a relatively astringent and/or bright finish. Acid/tannin combo is great with pizza but on its own is a bit too much. Perhaps when young was massive!
Now after some time flavors are developing and palate seems more mellow.

Interesting wine from an interesting winery. Malbec-dominant Bordeaux blend, so some nice acidity, plum, spice and oak. Memories of the really enjoyable rustic tasting room near the gorge are a bonus.

Horse Heaven Hills Red Rhone Blend more

12/15/2020 - Kayentacellars wrote: 92 points

Picked this bottle up at the winery on a Washington State wine tasting trip 4 years age. Described as a Red Rhone Blend, but is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot? Maybe another region of France for style. Dark Maroon color, nose of black currant, spice, cedar. Dry, full body, moderate tannins, but smooth, not harsh. Licorice, black cherry, black currant flavors. Medium long finish. Nice, good value.
