Chianti Classico - Tuscany. #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-some good fruit coming through; spiciness; also a crushed potpourri; classic nose; kind of creamy; PALATE-this is quite good; a little modern edge to it with some creaminess and has some good oomph; great floral, spice and fruit; dominant sweet Asian plum on the mid-palate transition to the finish; after tasting the cheese there are more tannins showing on the back-end; this wine is FANTASTIC; AG-92; GV-90 90 points |

Carignon - Sardinia, Italy. #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-power; like a chocolate brick being stuffed up your nose; smells great; there's huge intensity; very deep, rich wine; smells like a $70-$80 wine; PALATE-this is a very big and bombastic wine; HUGE fruit; explosive; very viscous; like an imaginary blend of the Rhone (CdP) and Italy; very intense structure; black pepper; leather; great black currant; like globs of jelly; this is a SPECTACULAR bottle of Carignon; great structure; I love the pepper, the intensity, the viscosity, the structure; love this wine; like a $70-$80 wine for $24 bones; AG-94; GV-93 93 points |
