Initially upon opening I thought this was a tough oxidized thanks to its synthetic cork, but upon re-visiting ~3 hours later that was not to be found. The palate matches the nose with the citrus and stone fruit up front then the mineral/herbal notes. The minerality & noticeable acidity add nice structure. That being said, drink up now as this tastes like it is just past peak and I don't trust the closure. |

11/18/2013 - David_T Likes this wine: 90 pointsBrine, minerals, wet rocks, lemon and herbs on both the nose and palate. Good acidity contributes to the long finish. Drinkable now but should last for several more years. Nice wine. |

The palate is also light but fairly complex with melon, lemon/lime, and a bit of a butterscotch/nutty note rounding out the finish. It tastes fresh while also having a bit of oxidation, nice for a white 11 years old and showing Melon de Bourgogne's potential for aging. That being said I'd drink it sooner rather than later while the freshness is still there. |
