9/30/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsOpening this bottle last night almost led to an entry in "Postings after 1 whole bottle consumed alone" - there's just a splash left. For each glass I poured the wine through a Vinturi and attempted to give it a few minutes before diving in. |

9/27/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 88 pointsA lot of raspberry in this Zinfandel, not at all jammy. Still improving with air, easily good through 2012. Good structure, highly recommended. |

9/24/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsFirst of all, this bottle was purchased from Winetasting.com as part of a 3-bottle trio on a terrific discount ($30 for three bottles) so I had very little expectation of greatness. It was blithely ignored for six months, but finally last night I pulled this bottle from the cellar. |

9/23/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsA very good bottle - not a hint of brett, unlike some previously. Initially poured through Vinturi, but for the second and third glass I found it was unnecessary. Purple/garnet in color, cherry and chocolate flavors with a bit of earthiness that reminds me of a Clarendon Hills Merlot I enjoyed recently. Smooth medium-length finish. |

9/22/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 88 pointsSecond of two bottles. First one was clearly flawed; it had no resemblance to what I'm drinking tonight. Oaky, smoky, raspberry and candied apples with a hint of cinnamon. Very good, now wish I had a few more on hand. |

9/21/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsYep, I guzzled another one. This is presently my go-to wine when I want a mouthful of wet rocks. Drinking so nicely right now, I truly hope to find more values like this. |

9/20/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 85 pointsPear and some tropical notes on the nose. The tropical is a bit more noticeable in the mouth, but gives way to more traditional fruit. It's a nice nuance. Not too sweet, it has a nice mouthfeel and smooth finish. |

2010 Lavender Ridge Grenache RoséSierra Foothills more |
9/18/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsA perfect summer sipper. It has enough sweetness to allow it to be very enjoyable on its own, but just the right amount of acidity to allow it to pair with a variety of foods. Tart raspberry most predominantly, but there is an essence of candied sugar in there as well. Very nice. |

9/17/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsRather intense flavor of ripe blackberry with good acidity. Medium-plus finish, and still opening up an hour after pouring through a Vinturi. Very enjoyable. |

2007 Lynmar Estate Pinot Noir Russian River Valleymore |
9/16/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsNot everyone appreciates a nicely oaked Napa Pinot, but as much as a fan of ye olde "wet stone" minerality as I have become, there's nothing wrong (and everything to enjoy) in this particular wine. The cherry and raspberry flavors are nicely concentrated and they are in perfect balance with the acidity and well-integrated tannins. |

9/14/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 86 pointsStrawberry and red vines. Not quite enough acid to carry the flavors around the mouth, and a bit less spice than I might have expected. Still an enjoyable bottle. |

9/13/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsPoured through Vinturi. Deep purple/garnet in color. Nose a bit restrained, showing black fruits, spice and a hint of something vegetal (I'm thinking broccoli or cauliflower most likely). These persist in the mouth, with definite cherry flavors but not like those in a Pinot Noir. A bit disjointed at first, but the between the Vinturi and an hour in the glass it really integrates. Reasonable acidity, nicely oaked (not overly so for my palate) and a medium-length finish. |

9/11/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 86 pointsJust a bit less crisp and slightly more sweet than ideal in a Sauv Blanc. Still, a pleasant white which went well with a Tortilla-encrusted pan fried Tilapia. |

9/10/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 88 pointsBrought this to a barbeque at a friend's house. Pulled pork sliders were a good pairing! The wine has flavors of blackberry and some raspberry, and the oak was a bit prominent but went very well with the smokiness of the meat. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed it. |

9/6/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsPoured through a Vinturi and started quaffing. Didn't seem nearly as tight as the first bottle; it drank very well from the get-go without any food at all. Gobs of black fruit - blackberry, black currant and a bit of plum. Some of caramel in there as well, balanced acidity and good tannins. Really pleasant medium-length finish. |

9/3/2011 - Leomania Likes this wine: 87 pointsGood wine for a warm summer day. Nice balance between sweetness (it isn't particularly sweet, but enough) and acidity; it was great by itself and it went well with a grilled fish. |
