It has a lightness of touch and a weightlessness that reminds me of great, classic Mosel Kabinett, even though it has the alcohol levels of a dry Riesling. There's an intense stony mineral character here, fresh green verdant and herbal scents, and a core of pale citrus and pear fruit beneath that plays a supporting role to the mineral and herbal/floral notes. The balance is impeccable and it still feels very fresh and quite youthful - I'm glad I have a couple left, but it'll take some effort to not open another one soon given how good this was. |

Well into golden and certainly with some oxidation (under cork). The palate has hints of fruit but only hints with an intense nuttiness and a healthy dash of petrol. Yeah. This is old, tired, and should have been consumed a while ago. Unless you like older Rieslings. Which I do. 88 |

Leaning chalky and a touch vegetal in the nose, in the direction of cooked asparagus, but also some very pleasant pineapple poking through. Full bodied mouth. Outstanding long finish with waves of alternating salty minerality and bitterness along with that satisfying hint of espresso that I often find in late harvest Gruners. Excellent! |
