2/16/2024 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 88 pointsA pleasant Viognier with enough acid to keep it going. Not overwhelmingly varietal. One taster said "bananas", another said "sunscreen", tho I know she was referring to the aroma, not the taste. Isn't there a sunscreen called Banana Boat? Well made. |

9/15/2023 - winchester-xi Likes this wine: NRPours nearly black and rather heavy looking. However, looks are deceiving , and the wine is in fact medium bodied and only 13% abv. Impactful nose with a bit of funk, but also a powerful floral element and lots of damp earth. The palate is unexpectedly red fruited, and also prominently features lots of earth and licorice. Very clean, with slightly raspy but refined tannins . Plenty of acidity and decent length. A bit Syrah-like in its weird combination of finesse and rusticity. I have no idea whether wine can age under glass stopper, but it might be worth throwing a bottle or two of this into the cellar for a 3 or 4 years to see what happens. All in all, nice to try something new and different on a random Friday evening . |

8/21/2023 - oropeza wrote: NRSoft floral nose, barely there, actually I didn't get anything at all straight out of the fridge. Starts to shine a little more as it came up to temp. In the mouth, it's lemon up front with some red fruit, and then lemon & lemonade through the core and finish. A little less substantial than previous years, I still like it at the price. |

6/29/2023 - Vinnut Likes this wine: 88 pointsLight pale pink in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of strawberries, cherries & watermelon with overtones of floral notes, some spices & minerals. Light bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, crisp, ripe fruit flavors of strawberries, cranberries & sour cherries with some spices & minerals. Lingering dry finish. Drinks quite well at present but definitely best consumed in its youth. An indicative blend of Syrah 70% and Grenache Noir 30%. |

4/28/2023 - RiversideBanker wrote: 86 pointsA balmy spring evening in Southern California with grilled salmon called out for a rose. 1st glass prior to dinner was sharp and flinty with not much on the nose. 2nd glass with dinner began to show some straw and strawberry on the nose. The strawberry continues on the palate along with some herbaceous notes. You can easily notice the Syrah emphasis in the blend but it just doesn’t translate into the richness you’d expect. Finish was too steely. Needed more time with the skins during fermentation. Purchased at Bristol Farms for about $14…you can get it for $10; but I’d take a pass. |

9/28/2022 - Low_on_Coffee Likes this wine: 84 pointsThe nose is a bit deceptive, soft and I’d immediately mistake it for a Pinot Grigio. But the mineral is dialed up much higher than a Grigio, and it gives a fuller taste overall as a result. |

6/16/2022 - oakville72 Likes this wine: 88 pointsPrevious vintages of this wine have come from the Costières de Nîmes and have been quite nice. This one is labeled as IGP Gard. According to the label, it's a 70% syrah, 30% grenache blend. But it's very light, which one would not expect from syrah. Pale pink with a lovely nose, dry and refreshing, but it tails off in the finish. A good value, tho not an "Oh, wow!" rosé. Well made. |
