Hints of blueberry pancakes, vanilla cookies, little bit of spicy oak with fine acidity and ripe tannins on medium finish. |

Black cherries, blackberries, plums, and chocolate in the flavor. Balanced, medium to full bodied, not a lot of complexity or nuance, and a medium to long finish. I'll hold off a couple of years to open the next bottle and see if it develops some more in the bottle. |

The fruit is big and rich as Bevan wines are but it’s definitely calmed down a bit. There are lots of fresh herb influences, flowers, dried blueberries, berry liqueur, hints of vanilla, pepper with silky texture, ripe tannins on long finish. Cheers 🍷 |

Nose has a lot of alcohol, then red licorice, stewed ripe strawberries & cranberry jelly, blackberries, black cherries plus vanilla, cedar. Palate also has black plums, cinnamon. Strong tannins linger in the sides of the tongue, but so did the jammy dark fruits. Medium+ finish. |

I was surprised a bit that it showed such restraint in the first few hours. I saved half the bottle until the next day, courtesy the miracle that is RePour, and my notes are from the latter tasting. The nose exudes dark cherries, plums and blackberries intermixed with mint, chocolate, and wild flowers. Drank fruits, with gobs of dark chocolates, a bit of spice and anise. Bright acidity up front with strawberry and lime zest. Creamy flavor in middle with pineaple, apricots, strawberry, nutmeg, and light fresh green herbs. Baking spices hang on palate on finish with strawberry. |

Then the wine got darker, earthier and minerals noted appeared with additions of dark chocolate. Then last hour I got some notes of sliced mushrooms and fallen leaves. Drying acidity w/ chewy tannins. No smoke/ash notes. This is a blend of Cab from Hayne Vineyard plus Franc and Merlot from Sugarloaf Vineyard. Russell Bevan nailed it! |
