4/23/2024 - jkvedar Likes this wine: 89 pointsAs I said in my previous note, this is a shy wine. Medium to medium minus aromatics, medium minus acidity, medium minus tannins. To be fair, I decanted it and started dinner quickly, and I will taste again after I leave the wine stoppered at cellar temperature. Tonight I probably would have called it Malbec in a blind tasting because it has a Bordeaux variety character, but fairly non-descript. As it opens up there is some pyrizine character but it is subtle. 2018 was a warm vintage in the Loire and it shows. |

4/13/2024 - Captain806 Likes this wine: 90 pointsMedium ruby. The nose is interesting; something earthy, but that’s not quite it. I’ve smelled it before in the Keys. Maybe sour or maraschino cherry. Medium bodied, medium tannins, medium to heavy acidity. Smoke and cherry on the front. Some floral notes. Spicy (black pepper) finish. Paired very nicely with pasta allá amatriciana. A jack of all trades. |

Come to the Loire - come and drink wines like this - come and bask in the cool waters of tight red berries infused with a peppercorn crunch and fine grained tannins at 10% of the price of a 1er Cru burg. Some meaty depth going on here but never overtaking the high toned notes of tannins, acidity and food-friendly balance. |

3/18/2024 - WineNerd76 Likes this wine: 94 pointsMedium plus purple in color; strawberries, black cherries, and cola on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like tart cherries, raspberries, crushed gravel, and a hint of bell pepper with a long finish. I love this wine. Nellie likes it. We both think it paired really well with seared tuna. |

2/13/2024 - salil wrote: 90 pointsVery much what I'd expect from a classic, old style Chinon. This isn't about ripeness or rich fruit at all - the red and black fruit here feels fairly lean and plays a background role to the layers of herbal, leafy, and various earthy/gravelly notes that dominate. Very much a soil-to-glass-transfer wine here to use JLL's phrase. There's a sense of lightness and rusticity to the palate, with grainy tannins and bright acids, and while it feels a bit thin on the back end, it's delicious over an evening and incredibly refreshing to drink. Great value too. |

Have been enjoying their wine State side since. Love this and the flavor is very earthy with some very dark raspberry notes. A touch of spice provides some nice depth. |

1/19/2024 - Short_Sips Likes this wine: NRAttractive color: deep ruby core that fades with clarity towards the rim with hints of blue. Medium level aromatic intensity. Mix of red and black fruit, raspberry, light peppery spice, and a clean expression of wet calcareous soil from where these vines are planted. Fruit on the palate is bright and supple, raspberry again and tight black fruit. Acid and tannin are in complete balance, showing a wine that is pleasant to drink alone but would be fantastic with a fillet or a cherry compote pork tenderloin. |

1/9/2024 - aagrawal wrote: 90 pointsCoravin. Medium youthful ruby; medium intensity aromatics, black pepper, stony minerality, red and black fruits; palate is medium bodied, medium-plus tannins, balanced 13% alcohol, a bit savory with some herbal and mint, underlying core of fruit below the herbal; finish is medium length. A very nice chinon, and I agree with other notes that this is more about the peppery spice than any green. Drinking well now, with likely some growth ahead of it. Nicely priced at ~$25. 89-90 |

12/11/2023 - BillBell73 Likes this wine: 93 pointsA beautiful, haunting, graceful wine that gets better every time I open it. Quite complex with very little fruit- this is more about savory, herbal, and woody tones and manages the trick of being both feral and light on its feet. |

12/11/2023 - pjaines Likes this wine: NRA stunning Chinon straight out of the bottle. This is a heady mixture of crushed rocks and red/black fruit infused with cashmere-soft tannins. No green elements here, but instead a refined pepperyness that elevates this into something quite wonderful. |

9/28/2023 - jkvedar Likes this wine: 91 pointsPopped and poured at 64 degrees F. Nose is a bit shy. I mainly get floral character. There’s are aromatic hints of a Bordeaux variety (some pyrizine character). Light to medium bodied on the palate. Medium acidity and medium tannins medium finish. Probably overthought and over-described this one |
