2019 Doubleback Cabernet Sauvignon KosherWalla Walla Valley more |
9/10/2023 - GavrielT Likes this wine: 94 pointsCabernet Sauvignon sourced from Walla Walla Valley, Washington, 14.4% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was deep dark and very opaque royal, with moderate to heavy viscosity. Nose was of high intensity and really nice, tight yet incredibly floral upon opening, eventually opening up and giving way to dark fruit and spices. Blackberry, black raspberry, cherry, and strawberry jam, floral notes of roses, violets and potpourri, sweet anise, graphite, mint, oregano, fresh cream, leather, cedar, baking spices and vanilla. Palate was incredibly polished and sophisticated, quite effeminate for a cabernet yet still racy. Juicy yet balanced fruit with understated firm tannins and moderate acidity, all coming together harmoniously. Juicy black currants, black cherry, black plum, a hint of juicy red strawberries, blackberry bramble, loamy dirt, white pepper, toffee, umami, tobacco leaf and cocoa. Finish is long and layered and silky smooth, blackberries and dusty cocoa. Drinking beautifully now, with time to breathe, but should age gracefully for years to come. On par quality-wise (albeit different in style) with some of the top kosher Bordeaux and the Gen9. 94-95. |

4/8/2024 - JerryMasters Likes this wine: 94 pointsDark grape tannins with cassis, tobacco, blackberry, on the entry. a balanced wine through the mid-palate. Elegant finish that encourages another sip.. Great wine today, but past a peak fruit-wise if you like you like younger wines. Tannic structure will keep this interesting as it matures. |

11/10/2023 - winot wrote: 87 pointsThis is still tough and unyielding, and I think it will be ever thus. Just dark. Too dark, too...dark. Deep to black red, toasty, roasted nose, some burnt red berries popping thru, which actually seems a bit strange - palate is lithe enough, med-hi acidity, but the flavour profile is dark - toasted bark, burnt coffee, and the finish is a bit bitter and almost sour. Just very disappointing on several levels. |

1/31/2024 - cwiebe Likes this wine: 93 pointsFirst day open was pretty amazing. Big wine, but very balanced with blue fruit balancing nicely with pretty resolved tannins for this early. Second day, a little more extracted and took on a more plummy extracted flavor. Third day, backs off the extraction a bit and presented like a calmed down version of Day 1. |

1/1/2024 - Casablanca77 Likes this wine: 94 pointsNicely done by Drew Bledsoe. This is the first time I've tried his wines and it was outstanding. Beautiful nose with aromas of black cherry, black plum and leather. This is full bodied with flavors of blackberry, chocolate and baking spices leading to a smooth lengthy finish. This will continue to shine in the next 5 years and beyond. |

12/26/2023 - ibglowin Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is a heavy-duty Cabernet, big in every way, with rich black cherry and cassis fruit, and dense, dark tannins. The long, slightly grainy finish reinforces the impression of raw power, yet the wine retains perfect proportion over the course of the evening. Definitely worth the price of admission. |

12/17/2023 - Swanywawa Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis wine is dark garnet in color. Subtle nose at first but as it’s in the glass it opened up to black fruit, violets, and leather. Blackberry and anise across the palate then a leathery licorice finish. Great pairing with filet mignon or drink totally separate from food. |

12/2/2023 - brouigu1 Likes this wine: 91 pointsOpened and decant for an hour or so. Dark purple with a solid nose of red and black fruits, cigar box and oak spices on the nose. Full bodied with great fruits and hints of mocha while being decently balanced. Probably a wine for food paring but it does have a degree of complexity that should be enjoyed IMO |
