6/10/2023 - Ozmango Likes this wine: 92 points2010 was the big year in the Barossa. 2011 was wet and difficult. Yet gems still exist. This is one of them. Well crafted blend of Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot. Dark deep ink red with hints of brown. Vanilla, cigar box, alcohol. Cornucopia of red berries, plums with a solid backbone of peppery spice. Lingering, cleansing tannins. Delightful |

2/7/2023 - ChairmanKao Likes this wine: 94 pointsABV: 15.0%. Upon opening, there's a lot of savory notes on the nose with tapenade, Mediterranean herbs, and leather. After about a hour, dark red and black fruits slowly begin to appear (think plums, bramble berries, etc.). On the palate, there's still a little bit of tannic grip and a slight traceof alcoholic heat. The acidity is well-integrated and there's a good finish. This wine is at its peak so decant it for about 30 minutes prior to serving. |

12/1/2022 - mark.zinner Does not like this wine: NRMaybe flawed? Maybe not. Just tired over wrought aussie juice not particularly attractive and shrill on the shortish finish. Some eucalyptus interfering with any fruit that may have been discernable but probably not. Did not like like. |

11/6/2022 - cweiss Likes this wine: NRBack in the day I bought these for the ridiculous price of $5.99 for a high quality wine, and gave away or drank a couple of cases. I found a straggler, and we had it at Cull Party 2022. It's best days are past, but it's still very true to the grape and would impress Oscar Semmler. |

5/19/2006 - mphatic wrote: NRDutschke tasting 2006 (Brisbane): Weird, funky nose of raisins and spice akin to muscat but without the same fruit sweetness. Palate was much more friendly, and fairly complex. I don’t know on what occasion you would drink it! |

5/19/2006 - mphatic wrote: NRDutschke tasting 2006 (Brisbane): I wanted to like this but couldn’t really get into it. Quite a lot of brandy spirit and caramel on nose with butterscotch and biscuit. Similar on palate with heaps of rancio nuttiness. Good value for money. |

5/19/2006 - mphatic wrote: NRDutschke tasting 2006 (Brisbane): Rich fruitcake, raisin and Darjeeling tea-leaf on nose. Quite spiritous on palate which allowed it to finish very cleanly. Excellent length. A better example of tokay than the muscat was of the muscat variety. Very good value for money, but again, didn’t blow me away. |

5/19/2006 - mphatic wrote: NRDutschke tasting 2006 (Brisbane): Restrained on nose compared with St Jak. Closed up tight. Managed to get some dense dark fruit flavours on palate. Gritty tannins. Way too young to be drinking this wine. Not a lot of enjoyment at this stage. |

5/19/2006 - mphatic wrote: NRDutschke tasting 2006 (Brisbane): Deep dense colour, with dark fruits dominating. Well integrated oak playing a supportive role. Lush palate. Too young to call, but probably a safe cellaring bet if the next wine is indicative. |
