5/23/2016 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 93 pointsIt is hard to put words on how much I enjoyed tasting this wine. It is really “out of this world”. Fortunately we caught it just at the peak of its maturity. The color is rich almost opaque purple, but maturing obviously browning rim. The dark cherry fruit has an enticing baked quality telling us time to drink up. The secondary and tertiary leather and kitchen spice flavors are exerting themselves equal to the fruit on the finish. |

5/23/2016 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 90 pointsA real treat. Tasted at the winery where it never moved more than a few hundred feet in its existence. Blend of 5 white varietals that are kept a secret. Starts off with an earthy, cider and cinnamon red hots nose in front of mature honeyed apple pear and citrus fruit. It’s mature, but still vibrant and quick hitting. Has tremendous body and character. Nicely balanced and integrated. Lingering ripe apple, peach and honey. |

5/23/2016 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 90 pointsThis producer has a history of holding release for several years on all their offerings. They also specialize with somewhat quirky, creative names for most of them. They also make good wine. This Chardonnay is very interesting by having a nice combination of that austere, chalky flavor from France, combined with some serious ripe California fruit. The color is dark golden, but the entry is subtle and elegant. It shows a hint of robustness, but stays on track with the subtleness. Deft use of oak balances in with the ripe apple and pear fruit. A bit spicy. Lively and vigorous on the palate from lips to finish. Some ginger and red hots with the finish. |

1/31/2021 - Stephen.Somm Likes this wine: 90 pointsStill drinking well. Medium yellow. Aromas of lemon and green grass. The wine is medium bodied and dry. The palate is unctuous and savory, with notes of herbs, flint, and citrus augmented by a nuanced buttery oak influence. Very different, and very delicious! |

11/6/2020 - AGELVIS Likes this wine: 93 pointsTwo hour decant. Deep dark garnet color, with a thin rusty rim. Ripe red cherry, dried mushroom, cinnamon, and espresso on the mature, brooding nose. Very dry, crushed velvet palate, with great acidity and baker’s chocolate flowing through. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. Wonderful structure for the age. |

10/18/2020 - bigben10 Likes this wine: 94 pointsUnbelievable wine. I actually think this could have waited another year. A little too crazy out of the gate after running through the vinturi one time. Longer in the glass and as it warmed to room temp it flourished. Light fruit in the front, long lasting finish that I did not want end. As usual I am not too good at what type of smell or flavor it has but I know it is good. Great wine now or hold for another year. Hunt hits a home run again. |
