3/11/2023 10:47:00 AM - AG - family is heading to Napa end of May. I have booked a few tastings, but wanted to figure out the best options for a few Thomas Rivers Marie wines. I know that Caterwaul/Matthew Wallace are together, curious about others such as Stone the Crows, Mending Wall, etc. would appreciate your input

11/21/2022 4:43:00 PM - appreciate the note on Shibumi knolls. just picked up a 3 pack at a 25% discount at Falling Bright Wine Merchants (having a black friday sale). sounds just my style. Cheers!

10/27/2022 6:18:00 PM - AGELVIS: Happy to share my cellar contents with you or any friend. Just not sure if there is a setting to share with only friends as opposed to the "public."

10/27/2022 8:36:00 AM - Has the e-mail already gone out? Part of me is glad the prices are outrageous. I won't buy any for that price and I've been buying too much lately. I was thinking they would be $125 - 150/bottle. Oh well...

10/27/2022 8:33:00 AM - I was excited to see that Stone the Crows was having a cellar release starting today, as I was hoping to pick up a few 16s. then I noticed that the price per bottle is $200 for both the estate and the Fallen Feathers for all past vintages. both a surprise and a disappointment.

5/4/2022 2:40:00 PM - Franken Berry - Aperture is Sonoma rather than Napa, but you wouldn't necessarily know the difference. They make a great value red blend. Kamen's Writers Block blend is terrific (also Sonoma, but Moon Mountain is essentially like Napa). I'll try to think of some others, but I'm always focused on Cab myself. Cheers sir!

5/4/2022 12:51:00 PM - AG - I was thinking to shift my near term buying to some tasty napa red blends. (I have more than enough cabernet sitting around). was curious what you thought was most satisfying, and a good QPR.

12/14/2021 10:29:00 AM - I plan to buy three bottles of each of their Cabs (Fallen Feather and the standard Three Twins). I'm wary of of '17 bottles, but the discount pushed me over the edge. I did enjoy Drinkward Peschon's '17 Cab and Myriad was also decent, but neither was as good as '16 (and I imagine '18). Cheers my friend!

12/14/2021 9:30:00 AM - curious whether you have tasted the 2017 Stone the Crows Cab. The winery is offering this for $88 a bottle today

8/17/2021 10:03:00 PM - Hi AG! When you say decant in your TNs do you mean a bottle decant? Wide bottom decant? Would appreciate the clarification. Best, Daniel

3/11/2020 7:48:00 PM - Jaime, I know I fed you the Judge Palmer '16 Vintage Select cab after tasting out there in Oct but just had a bottle tonight and it CONFIRMS my belief that this has the best bang for the buck of any cab out there. I just ordered more from Palmer in my spring shipment. CT review is up. Cheers, dude! Mark

12/5/2019 7:08:00 PM - Hey AG...a friend turned me on to a new cab----Jean Edwards Rutherford and their Atlas Peak also. $80/$72 to wine club for the Rutherford. It (the '16) is awesome. The Atlas Peak is $72/64 to wc. Very good also but a little tannic and could use more time. You would really like the Rutherford. Great QPR.....use my name (Mark Johnson) with them if you want. Maybe they'll give you wc prices?

10/14/2019 8:16:00 PM - My friend, just back from Napa....found a couple of interesting reds. The '16 Arkenstone NVD at $95 is a great bang for the $$$. High class and silky with a great taste profile. Laird '14 Mast cab at $80 quite decent and.... the '16 Judge Palmer Vintage Select at $45+ may be the best deal of all, fwiw. Am avoiding the '17 Venge Silencieux, bought 3 bottles before going out there, you can see my CT review. I hope it gets better in a year or two or I'm gifting them!

8/27/2017 7:56:00 AM - Chablis28, Thank you for the kind invite. I was visiting MN back in July, but I'm now enjoying the rain in College Station, Texas. I would have loved to participate. If you're on Vivino, I'm AgElvis there as well. I'll follow you if you ping me. Look me up next summer and I'll bring a bottle over. Cheers!!!
