Lots of interwoven layers of kumquat, nectarines, grapefruit, slate, firestone, mint, red pepper, fresh acidity (8.3 g/L TA vs 5 g/L RS), and green spices. Fleshier nose, displaying lemon curd and lime zest. Wow. Lemon curd laced with electricity in the mouth. Fantastic purity of flavor and length. Palate follows suit, a linear laser of acid and mineral that manages to convey nuance and variation while staying within a very narrow spectrum of flavor. The dry mineral streak comes to the fore on the long and persistent finish. A very nice entry point to this producer’s catalog, polished and precise. Use it to cut through whatever you may be eating. Airy and playful but with depth. Smoky minerality complemented by wonderfully pure aromas and flavors of orange citrus, mustard seed, jasmine, and thyme. Clear, pale golden color. Classic SF nose with noticeable sulphur. On the palate on a similar level with the Halenberg. On the palate the wine is dry with high acidity, medium alcohol and body. The flavor intensity is medium + and the finish is medium +. The quality is outstanding and can drink beautifully now but can age for a long time. The tertiary petroleum flavors are present and adds additional complexity to this great wine. Yet this is young, too young maybe and I will come back after 2026. / Light yet dense, enormous length and very high, demanding acidity / Benefits from caraffing and needs 14° rather than 10° Celsius in my opinion. Würziger, aggressiver, etwas pfeffriger. Langer, phenolischer Abgang. Ohne Frage: großer Wein. Im direkten Vergleich und personal Taste gefällt der Emrich Schönleber Halenberg 07 etwas besser, weil er zwar erst zurückhaltender, dann aber in sich konzentrierter und tiefer im Abgang ist. Kühle, steinige Nase. Am Gaumen geht’s gerade aus in den ganz großen Fächer. Wenig Frucht, packende Säure gepaart mit ausdrucksstarkem Terroir und der ganz großen Reise an Aromen. It delivers lots of different citrus fruits, a flowery tone, wet stone, a little ripe musk melon and some petroleum (which disappears after a while). Super intense, but yet very fresh and elegant. Aromas of honey and golden raisins point to the botrytis here, with yellow apple dominant beneath those top notes. The palate is broad, juicy, and full, with a fleshy texture and flavors indicating the ripeness of the vintage: yellow peach and even a hint of mango. There is a tangy acidity here that's mostly buried by the massive fruit, but it's present enough to keep everything lively. The finish is long and expensive, with impressive concentration on the mid palate. At age 18 and change, it's hard to say this is young. But I do think it has positive evolution ahead of it yet. Chlor, Sand, etwas Gummischlauch. Dahinter ganz fein getrocknet gelb-gewürzige Traminernoten. Im Mund überraschend spritzig und für Traminer sehr frisch, viel Mundgefühl, schmirgelnd-schleifend, etwas salzig, Grapefruit, hinten raus Traminer, Rosenblüte.
