Did not decant due to concern that we might ‘lose’ her given her advanced age. Wow - to my very pleasant surprise, this is still drinking VERY well. It’s softened beautifully to a delightfully smooth, silky mouth feel. Yet still just enough acidity to nicely balance the beautiful, bright dark cherry, blackberry, currant, and vanilla flavors. Wonderful. |

Subtle hints of dark berry fruit and dusty leather on the nose that doesn’t give away the explosion of flavor to come. Soft, gentle, well rounded tannins beautifully balance abundant black cherry and a pleasant bit of vanilla, old leather, red currant, and just the slightest hint of clove. Lingering, seductive finish. Drink up - I can’t imagine how this gets much better than how it’s drinking right now! |

Has to be about peak right now. Still sufficient tannin to hold up to a grilled fillet mignon, but softened and smooth. Great expression of a big, juicy, Napa cab. Delightful and sad to say this was my last bottle of this vintage. |

A bit tight at first at cellar temp but after 20 minutes in the glass and warming up a bit it opened up wonderfully. Nice, ripe dark cherry and blackberry fruit well balanced with leather and tobacco notes. Rich mouth feel, age-softened tannins, long savory finish. Drinking great right now, can’t imagine it getting much better. |

The finish was reminiscent of cherry cough syrup. First time I've ever not finished a bottle of Caymus.
