Taste with more red berries, good acidity, soft but still present tannins. Alcohol 14.5 %. A very balansed wine. Drinks perfectly at the moment. It was great to reindeer, cream sauce with cognac, sauted brussel sproutes, fried sliced potatoes spice with juniper berreis, and pickled lingon berries. Do you find this review helpful? Golden colour, nose with honey, cloudberries and a touch of dill. Good acidity, high viscosity, and a great balance between honery and cloudberries, the sweetness and the acidity. Served with slow cooked leg of lamb and garlic potato puré and haricots verts. Decanted for 1,5 hours. Red with some maturity notes in the rim. The nose pointed at Bordeaux dominated by Merlot, but with extra cherry tone. Velvety tannins, perfect balance, long finish. My best Vapolicella ever. Outscored Chateau Pichon Baron 1996. Damped label. Decanted 3 hours based on experiense from previous bottles. Dark red with some brick notes in the rim. Typicle Bordeaux nose. Didn't take any notes. It was a good wine but not great. This bottle is definitely much better. Crisp, stringent an clean with some maturity notes. Perfectly balanced and the best showing so far from Palmer & Co 2008. The wine has been in my cellar in 25+ years. The vintage was questioned some years ago and it was interesting to see how the wine had developed. Dark mulberry colour with some brick notes in the edge. The nose was still black fruit dominated, dark plum, mature black current, pencil, tobacco, dark chocolate and some sweetness. Intense taste with medium acidity, fruit as above, still medium, but very polished tannins. Great balance and a very, very long aftertaste. In total good but not great. More robust than elegant, but a very good wine. Will the wine be better with more aging? Brick coloured, but very bright. A great nose with leather, a bit of rose hip and allspice. A touch of earthiness that left after some time. Decanting done directly before serving. The wine developed in the glass for almost two hours. The taste was complex with tertiary aromas, medium+ acidity, very smoth, almost fully resolved tannins, leather, a bit of oak and some mature sweet plum notes and a really long finish. Three years since last bottle. Less fruit notes than last time. Nose is great with notes of over-ripe raspberry and strawberry combined with dark fruit, spices and oak. Later less fruit and more sandlewood. Taste with similar notes but without the sweetness in the nose. Medium body, and medium acidity and medium length. Some green notes and quite dry fruit.
