2/10/2024 - tunaguy Likes this wine: NRThis is in the zone right now. Dense dark fruits, figs, espresso, dried tobacco. All joy at this point. Likely years more in the tank but for me this is at peak |

12/30/2023 - tunaguy wrote: NRFirst bottle of Fichet. Quite of bit of reductive notes dominating for the first 90 minutes, settling down a bit after that but never really finding overall balance. Quality of fruit and winemaking is evident but I think this may be in an in-between stage. Worth waiting a few more years as I think sound bottles should be better at the 9-10 year mark. Prices on these have jumped considerably for Fichet and not sure if worth the hype off this particular bottle |

9/28/2023 - tunaguy Likes this wine: NRDurant comes across a touch more toward orchard fruit than other 20s on the nose but a bit more depth and complexity. More pronounced raw nut and fresh cream, along with lime zest. Palate leans more citrus with fantastic depth. Needed 2 hours of air to fully find itself and drinking much better closer to cellar temp. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

5/8/2023 - tunaguy Likes this wine: NRThis met my high expectations. High toned citrus notes along with a touch of orchard fruits, puligny reminiscent florals, spices woven into crushed rocks. mouthwatering acids. Needed a bit of air to really get with it, but not as much as some previous vintages. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

4/26/2023 - tunaguy wrote: NRgtilley's note is very similar to my experience with this. I would differ in that this is not a fruity wine, but what is fruity is quite subjective. A balanced wine IMO, that I think is priced perfectly in the lineup |

4/19/2023 - tunaguy wrote: NRRipe and dense for it's level, with orchard fruits and a dollop of wood spices. A touch fat and clunky at first, finding a bit more focus and energy with air. Needing a little bit of cellar time to come together but should be drinking really over the next year or so. |

4/15/2023 - tunaguy Likes this wine: NRNose of fresh and preserved lemon, struck match/smoke, crushed rocks, some fresh herbs, hint of grilled bread and cream. The palate is a touch clunky for now but showing similar notes though leaning a touch more into orchard fruits. A very solid village wine that deserves a few years in the cellar. |

3/22/2023 - tunaguy wrote: NRMostly restrained lemon-lime candy type notes with really a lack of much else. It's airy but lacks minerality(there is a some), which was once a PYCM strong point. I've been on a streak of under performance at various levels of PYCM and this is another to add to the list. Tough at the $45 I paid, even tougher at the $65 for the WS average. Other very good palates seem to be into this, but this particular bottle struggled for me. |

3/14/2023 - tunaguy wrote: NRthe nose has improved but palate remains quite rough with coarse tannin running the show still. I'll hold my final bottle for at least a a couple more years but I am not sure this has the depth to survive the tannin. Feeling as though the over did it in the cellar on this. Less would have been more |
