Green wax! What an interesting wine. Definitely more oxidative than the pure chardonnay btls. Still a ton of fruit, oyster shell/sea spray galore, really high acidity. beautiful btl.

Nose was red berries aromatics that continues to gain complexity with air. Palate was balanced, good acidity. Wouldn't confuse it with burgundy but very well made, and quite inviting to drink.

Selosse Lieux Dit Tasting: Everything dialed to 11. Intensity throughout. high acid, super racy, vibrant, energetic. Fresh and youthful with a ton of fruit. Impossible to find again probably, but would love to sit with this bottle over a longer period of time. Wonderful wine.

Selosse Lieux Dit Tasting: Distinctly different than the selossey wines :). Chalk and mineral based by green apple and pear fruit. With air a saline and seashell note comes out, as well a hit of ginger. Wow btl.

Selosse Lieux Dit Tasting: Relatively slightly darker in color. To me this showed some red berry fruit, along with apples and pear. Higher in acidity, and felt a bit more mature.

Initially it was a strange sight with large amounts of carbonation/fizz.. if you shook the bottle with the cork held in, it would pop when you release it, repeatedly. Taste was piercing acidity with natty funk, but not much going for it.

Threw into a decanter and aggressively swirled for a bit, then left alone for 2-3 hours. Warming up to a 65-68F temp, along with the carbonation subsiding, the green apple, juicy but sour nectarine notes started to show.

By the end of the night this became quite an attractive wine that I very much enjoyed

It's a TERRIBLE pugliny montrachet - at least in the common accepted form of it. but it's a rather delightful natty chardonnay.

worth the $? that's a different/separate debate.

Special bottling of the 2012 Beguines from a single demi-muid that went through extended elevage. On pop this was closed up, and in comparison the GC was firing. 2 hours later, and woooo this got incredibly tasty as well. Purity of citrus and orchard fruit, with mineral backbone, and focused acidity. Yum.

Decanted for 4 hours and it really needs it. Initially disjointed but after the air it just pops. The wine is unique in the amount of finesse that it shows, along with the class savory, game, olive note. Red cherry fruit with juicy acidity balance. Really delish.
