Bright, clear, light gold. Aromas of lime & white peach, verbena, crushed stone, ginger powder, jasmine and hints of honey. High-toned lime zest and fresh quince on the palate, with secondary orange blossom, fresh cilantro, oyster shell, rock salt, and hints of butterscotch. Racy and linear, light on its feet as it hits the palate but gaining texture through the middle, with high acidity and grippy texture as it closes, finishing with lengthy notes of citrus and salinity.

Ruby red with purple-pink rim. Dark cherry, blackberry, stewed strawberry, honeycomb, tobacco, olives, dark chocolate, oregano, mild leather and pine tree . Medium bodied, medium acidity, medium tannin, medium structure, medium alcohol and medium finish. Complex, rustic and restrained. It tasted like a Northern Rhone rouge from the Alpines.

90% Petit Rouge (Picciourouzo), with other indigenous grapes. Vineyards in the 2,000-3,000 feet elevation.

Really nice drinking. Plums and cherries, dried rosemary, classic Bordeaux pencil, salami, still with grippy tannins and mouth watering acidity. Two hours in a narrow decanter. My last bottle, lots of life ahead if well kept.

Wow what a wine. At Asador Bastian. Opened for 90 min. Probably needs a full decant for 2 hours+. At first a bit astringent and acidic. After 20 min in the glass it completely evolved into a well balanced beauty Notes of leather, mushrooms, red fruit. This is a top level wine entering its prime.

Tasted after 72 minutes of air. Dark ruby color. Bright floral notes on the nose. Spicy cherry fruit. Perfect balance. This just floats like a cloud on the palate revealing new and interesting elements as it goes along. Some green tea. Very persistent. Excellent.

Very good, still viable. Bright, clear medium ruby. Profile shows ripe strawberry, spicy raspberry, cherry cola, vanilla extract, leafy mulch, and salty red granite. Medium acidity isn’t enough to balance the juicy, ripe, red fruits. Lacks depth and complexity at this juncture. Medium finish. Enjoyed with pesto salmon, spinach ravioli and an arugula salad. Drink now.

Retail $45. Very Heavy Bottle. Under cork. I bought six of these from my local grocery store for the absurd price of $20/bottle. Now I know why: another corked bottle. I love my H-E-B a little less now and shame on Benovia if they knew about an issue and dumped them. One corked bottle? It happens. Two? Unfortunate. But three out of four? Yeah, someone knew there was a problem here.

Tasted after 1 hour of air. Not much on the nose. Maybe still closed? Some high toned notes on the mid palate. Black tea and spice. Forest floor notes. Interesting tang. This wine is evolving and revealing more as time goes on. An excellent effort from the master of Pinot Mr. Mark.

Grabbed this by mistake from the cellar after a ‘19 WF Burgos. Nose is white peach (somewhat unusual for Chablis, more similar to a white Bordeaux); palate is smooth, not as acidic as I was expecting, well balanced. Great finish. It will probably improve with age but it’s really good right now

Absolute stunner! Singing. Delicious! Open for business! Minimal acid but delicious Zinfandel bouquet. Drink now or wait a handful of years.

This pours light ruby in the glass with flecks of pink and purple toward the watery rim. The nose is of violets, purple licorice, candied plum, and vitamin tablet. The palate enters on the purple and blue tinged fruit. Tannin is medium minus and acid is medium. The finish replays blue and purple fruit. This is really not my preferred style. Almost comes across like Beaujolais in its bombastic fruit.

Drank prior bottle was almost four years ago. This one: Color of dark red. Scents of strawberry and currant. Tastes consistent with scents, and with smooth tanins and medium mouthfeel. Drank over two nights. Really had lost its punch on the second day.

Watermelon in the glass, modernly, aromatic nose of red fruits, pallet is dry and crisp, berries, strawberry, red delicious apple, Ranier cherry, floral note of rose, acidity is high, body is medium, finishes long. Fantastic QPR yummy.

Ok so tried this blind and thought it was a $15 cheap Cabernet from chile. Floral over load with paint thinner, spice and sweeter fruit. Short uninspiring finish.

Been a long week home with a 2 year old recovering from surgery. Had this with a prime ribeye cap.

First thought upon smelling while pouring into decanter was “coconut!” Is there American oak used here? I guess I’d be a little surprised if there was, but whatever. It’s not off putting, just maybe a bit unexpected?

After a bit of time (say an hour) and I pour a taste, thoughts went to, “Damn, I opened this way, WAY too early.”

Soft edged tannins and a muted (but delicious) mouth of dark fruits with cream that lasts nearly a minute.

Now, with dinner, about 1.75 hours in decanter, this thing is starting to unfurl a bit. Parts that were great, but maybe disjointed, started to fall into place.

This is quite good, but I would imagine this won’t start to really show anything close to its best stuff for another 3-5 years minimum. I know I wont revisit either of my two remaining bottles until at least 2028-2029. I say 93 now, but with a 94-96 upside.

Deep ruby. Medium intensity aromas of dark berry, plum, cherry, mint, and clove with floral notes. Dry, high alcohol, high acidity, full bodied, medium(+) silky tannins. Medium(+) intensity flavors similar to the aromas but with more pronounced red fruits like raspberry and hints of coffee/chocolate and cedar. Medium finish. Very enjoyable wine that you can feel good buying given the producer’s support of so many worthy causes.

Few hours decant. Beautiful wine. Plushy dark fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, fennel, vanilla wafers, sweet tobacco and coffee beans. This is from Moon Mountain ‘21 vintage. Nice acidity, chewy tannins on long finish.
This to me held better than the twice as pricey as Realm Farella ‘18
Cheers!

Powerful (14.9%!) yet graceful, with notes of Meyer lemon, ripe Bartlett pear, and nectarine leading the way. Oak is perfectly integrated, acidity is on point, and a slight spicy ginger note emerges late. Fabulous.

This unassuming Cremant de Bourgogne is absolutely wonderful. Everyone knows Louis Bouillot by their widely exported nonvintage cremants, but when you visit their tasting room in Nuits Saint George, you see the artistry and passion behind their generations of successful winemaking. This bottling is a prime example of that. A 100% Chardonnay from a named vineyard in Savigny Les Beaune, if naming and AOC conventions allowed it, this would be a premier cru white burg… but sparkling. It is really spectacular, and for a ridiculously affordable price. I promise you haven’t tasted any white burg or cremant de Bourgogne that tastes quite like this. It’s extraordinary.
