Opened and slow ox'd for a few hours. The nose is red fruit and hints of chocolate. The palate was dark cherry, red plums, pipe tobacco, sandalwood and chocolate. The finish was long and smooth. Really nice wine.

PnP, chilled. The color was a medium minus yellow with some light floral notes on the nose. The medium bodied palate showed just light notes of white fruit (pear and apple) along with citrus, minerality, vibrant acidity and some bitterness on the finish. It seems the drinking window for this wine is 1 to 4 years.

I really love Bouley's wine and this was no exception. He feels destined to be a future great of the Beaune. This is an unusual bottle in that it was part of a mixed case of Champans in which the 2018 had 44 months of elevage, the 2019 had 32 months and the 2020 had 20 months. It's hard to compare across vintages and elevage like that on this occasion I had the wine on its own.

Even at a young age, his wines are always remarkably silky but compared to his normal bottling it was noticeably more so. The oak didn't feel overbearing at all and the fruit was still pure but there was a refinement to the wine that I really loved. Certainly punching above its weight and age!

Just had a glass of the '20 Pomona CC, and at first blush that wine feels more substantive on the palate. This is lighter-bodied and the acidity is more pronounced, but the palate is slightly clenched here, for lack of a better descriptor.

PnP, chilled. Very similar to our bottle some 6 months ago but with more citrus on the nose, acidity on the palate and lemon pith on the finish. Seems like it's not built for aging so drink each vintage while fresh.

Such a cool wine from Tournelle.

Slightly clowdy.
Complex Tournelle’esque nose (I don’t know what else to call it, it’s similar across their entire range of topped up whites - is this the terroir of the cellar maybe?) Lemon and orange peel, sea spray, wax and a hint of lilac and white peach.
Bright acidity, moderate body, refreshing really. Maybe a touch of a mousy character in the last glass three days after the initial opening, but not enough to be a bother. Saline finish with a touch of bitter grapefruit.

Face to face: 2006 Roagna Barbaresco Asili vs 2006 Gaja Barbaresco.
Tertiary aromas in the nose as well, but surely a more vibrant nose than Asili. In the mouth, tannins shows more yourgerness (and the barrique use as well) with a grippy finish and the balsamic tones that overcome the fruits. Freshness invites to drink easily the wine, though a more modern style, and make me prefer it to Roagna this time. 91++

see notes before mine. This is already drinking so well. Juicy, heady and cerebral all at the same time.

Traditionally made Chianti, with good acidity and earthy red fruits. Very likable.

Agree with others - this is very good quality, with some fatness and length and concentration. Ripe lemon, pineapple, pear, green apple, zesty ending (some bitterness). A little bit of custard and brioche as well. Could have had more Chablis typicity and especially more tension, but for a Chablis village this surpasses its appellation.

Saca especial "Contubernio". Color dorado.

Inga anteckningar, men mycket trevligt. Baserat på tidigare kommentarer, chansade jag, mot bättre vetande, på att öppna den till hemmagjord pizza. Hade blivit ännu bättre till en köttbit.
Andra flaskan klarar sig några år till, men helt klart i drickfönstret

Decanted briefly, took a half-hour to open. Enjoyable although the finish is a bit confused and twiggy. With air, the midpalate had lovely relaxed fruit. Agree with previous taster that this hasn't aged well to this point as far as balance or tertiary nuance. I have one more bottle so we'll see if it gets through this stage or not.

Face to face: 2006 Roagna Barbaresco Asili vs 2006 Gaja Barbaresco.
Dusty nose at the beginning, very dark with leather and few fruits, tannins are smoothed confirming a rounder and less fresh mouth than Gaja. With time it shows more complexity with few others ripe fruits in his classic style, but also more elderness. For me Gaja wins by a little. 91

I made the mistake of buying this private label bottling based on the raves of the guy in front of me at CostCo - kind of like getting stock tips at the barber shop.

While not outright flawed, this insipid, strawberry-flavored cough syrup does a disservice to the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation. If there was such a thing as "Chateauneuf du Pape Nouveau," this would be it.

In the old days, wine like this would have been declassified. Luckily I paid under $20 for the bottle - dirt cheap for CdP - but that's actually expensive considering that most $15 Cotes du Rhone are better.

Quite a rich wine, wife thought CA. Thought the wine was sweet, almost like port, no oak, and the alcohol was held in check by the fruit. It will be interesting to see if the sweetness evolves.
