Very solid chardonnay that went well with grilled salmon. Some oak, but not overbearing, crisp granny smith apple, not really getting the objectionable acidity that other reviewers have. YMMV.

Loads of minerals and acidity. The acidity overpowers the sweetness and body, causing the balance in the wine to fall off.

Enjoyable wine. Had a glass at a Benom, L'Aventure and Clos Solène tasting. Was overshadowed for sure by the L'Aventure Optimus 2016 and L'Aventure Estate Cuvee 2019, and their price points reflect that.

This is a big full flavored fruit forward blend. The red fruit is nicely layered with earth. It has low tannins and a nice long finish.

GSM blend with heavy Grenache flavors dominating. Great red fruit with low heat, low extract for a New world grenache. Definitely a French touch here in Paso Robles. Had a glass at a tasting of 3 Paso Robles wineries -- L'Aventure, Benom and Clos Solène. This was my favorite.

Grenache 70%, Syrah 17%, Mourvedre 13%. Aged 16 months, 90% of it in neutral oak puncheons and 10% in new oak.

Aromatic nose supported with good structure. Yellow in colour with intense and complex aroma. Yellow stone fruit, with muted melon aromas. Pineapple with fresh minerals.

From L'Aventure as the partner Champagne house for them.
Medium lemon color. Medium intensity nose with a strong scent of lemon, biscuit, and lemon squares. I also get some orange blossom and ginger.
The palate has a lot of texture going on. Very creamy. Very lemon on the palate with hints of pear and spiced pear. More an elegant style than a power house. Not overly complex but not under representing. The price is a bit much at $45.

Black cherry, vanilla, grape jelly and cocoa on the nose. Black pepper, currants, and boysenberry on the palate. A bit jammy. Tannins are present but not overpowering, nice acidity and medium finish.

Green apples and buttery smoke. Quite tasty. This is on the cusp of being a "big" chardonnay. Viscous. Acid is on the lower end.

I'd probably drink this sooner rather than later, it lost some complexity from last year.

This aligns with several other reviews. Flawed.
VA upon opening, and stabile for half an hour until mouse sets in.
All the while it's swaying back and forth from that to memories of Ganevats Plein Sud. Rosewater, strawberries and a green component somewhere.

This Pinot has aged so well. The typical spice from this winery has mellowed into a more full body and smooth Pinot. Prunes on the nose and full dark fruit on the plate.

I find that the key to schrader is to slow ox. With air most become disjointed but stay beautiful with a slow ox. This wine really opened up at 3 hours. Full bodied and rich with nice acidty and some earthiness. There is a thickness which keeps it from getting a higher score

Great classic Pinot as is usually the case with Et Fille. As good as it was on Day 1 after about 15 minutes of air, it still got even better on Day 2

Strong showing. Just a hint of reduction initially upon opening. Darker fruit profile, black cherry hinting on plums. Ripe, but balanced, as ti's quite fresh. The ripeness gives the palate a sappiness, that quite inviting. Lengthy finish. I'm impressed by the balance and polish. There's no rusticity here whatsoever.

Been a minute since my last bottle and this has improved somewhat. Still a food pairing wine IMHO (Chinese steamed pork buns tonight).

Everything is much more balanced. Nose like red licorice.

Has aged nidely. Notes of iodine, some pencil lead and leather. All tertiary notes. Who knows? This may pick up another point over the coming two years

White - Off-dry
Length & girth
Completely fills the mouth
A reminder that all the best apples taste like other, better fruits, in this case, peaches and limes
Good call on the quinine, Rob Hansult, though I think this is best celebrated, not analyzed
Minor upon opening, opulent on day 2

Light yellow in color. Neutral white grape varietal aromas like ripe apple. Acidity is medium to medium plus. A touch of tropical notes as well. Overall it seems like a lot more than just 20% Sauv. Chardonnay 80%, Sauvignon Blanc 20%. Fermented in stainless. Aged 5 months in neutral oak (57%), new French oak (24%) and concrete (19%). The stainless gives it a verberation of acidity. No malo. Fun wine. One of the more standout New World chardonnay blends I've had. Not sure the price point is right, but I do really like this wine.

Very good and hearty, but this old-world Bordeaux is missing much of the mid-palate and lacking some finesse. Black olives, burnt coffee, rosemarrie, charred oak and strawberry compote. Needs a full day of decanting, or consume a small amount and drink the remainder over the next several days. Probably at peak maturity right now; all should be consumed within the next 3 - 5 years.

Pale peach color in a Provençal style. Grenache Noir 70%, Grenache Gris 20%, Mouvedre 10%. Aged 3 months in stainless, no malo. Pleasant drinker, enjoyable. Lacks all the acidity of Rhone and Provence rosés, so a bit less complex. But costs much more at $52.

Pretty good for a Canuck red wine. Not certain how they achieved 14.8% abv, but it's quite good, and it's a reasonable $47CAD.

A single vineyard located in Naramata.
Almost desert conditions, sndy soil, hot in summer days and cooler nights.

Deep Ruby
Dark cherries plums
Chocolate smoke
Earth

Body medium+
Alcohol high
Acid high
Tannins medium+ resolving silky
Viscosity mouthfeel fully enveloping
Finish short less than 30 seconds

Merlot 100%
14.8% abv

A gift from a friend.
It's nice and as much as I'd like to support the Canadian economy, I'll be buying a $47 Merlot from California, Washington State, Bordeaux.
A far better QPR.

PS Drink The Rainbow!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is a terrific wine. Big. Bold. Dark. With that said, it’s not overpowering, there’s a lot of layers of flavor….earthy, dark plum, dark…brooding not jammy in the least. And the finish goes on and on and on….

Polished, rich and generous nose shows good quality oak, sweet spice, bacon fat, blackcurrant, plums a little violet, smells younger than the 2011, touch of clay. Juicy and generous here on the palate as well, a little savoury, almost salted liquorice notes joins the black hued fruits, tannins are woody, talc textured and super persistent, a little sous bois joins on the finish with the liquorice slightly more pronounced. Pretty clever

Brooding and dense, red and black hued fruits backed by touches of red currant, slight herbaceous notes, a little pencil shavings. Juicy tends to medium plus intensity acidity, a little red liquorice, plenty of drying woody tannins which prove tight, chewy, a touch of sourness on the finish for me. With time the nose picks up a more candied note though the palate remains all elbows. Like the 2014 it feels a little out of whack.

Hmm. Gary says it reminds him of the Te Mata Awatea but my recollections of that wine was it being more overtly green capsicum.
