White Alba truffle dinner at Park Place: More rounded than the Raveneau. Lemon lime, some malo? Hint of caramel. Oddly I picked up something on the nose that reminded me of a church pew. I guess that would be wood and incense.

More interesting on the nose than the palate, and because it’s following the ‘04 Raveneau Butteaux, probably at a disadvantage right now.

I was expecting this to be completely oxidized - and it wasn't! Actually was drinkable, but not special.

Late night drinks at home brought over by J. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, oyster-shell, rocky minerals, nutty oak, ripe citrus lemon. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of nutty toasty oak, citrus lemon oil, creme brulee, rocky stony minerality.
Very good quality. Quite complete and has a good dose of everything I want in an oaked Chard. Reasonable acidity for the vintage. Could improve over the next 3 years.

From magnum. Very pale yellow. This is poised, serene and downright ethereal white Burgundy. On the nose this beams like sunshine on a summer morning, offering aromas of green and yellow apples, underripe peach, fromage blanc, and limestone minerality which is just framed by hints of vanilla and oak spice. On the palate this is medium to full bodied, it is super clean and crisp with very bright, lively acidity and a touch of dry extract showcasing polished orchard and citrus fruit flavors. Delicious.

Medium+ nose intensity with notes of pear, red apple, lemon, toast. Medium+ acidity and medium finish. This was a better bottle than the last I drank in 2021 as the notes I have is mostly primary notes and not yet tertiary notes yet.

2023 La Paulee Grand Tasting of 2020 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Cooler aromas than the Folatières, more citrus. Lighter, more crisp, elegant feel, excellent acidity. To me this is more typical Puligny and I preferred it to its richer sib. Could be outstanding with medium term aging.

Nose: pear, white flower, sweet corn, baked bread, honey,
Notes: Whilst it might be true that I would've wished for a more intensive palate and a more expressive nose but I do think that the Cailleret 2016 has most of the good qualities of a good Puligny and it is a classic yet well balanced white. This is however a little light-headed and the color suggest it is still very young right now and should benefit from further aging but thanks to its nice balance I'd say its not ideal but it's not a huge problem drinking now.
Drink: 2025+
Rating: 90

Completely oxidized. I’m not saying it’s flawed because it is slightly past its peak, but because it seemed at least a decade past its drinking window.

Another old ones to open,

Not as huge as the Folatières from same vintage, fennel, anise, herbs and light aged oak, honey, sour cream... complex nose

Palate is balanced, on spot, with a Wonderfull positioning in the mouth, power is contained but super long with lots of honey, white flowers, broom, integrated acidity.

Could be really outstanding a bit younger I believe

Very pale yellow. From magnum. This feels like the Platonic essence of white Burgundy: at once consequential, stately, complex but somehow almost weightless. On the nose there are aromas of fresh green apples, a hint of tarte tatin, lemon peel, fresh yellow flowers, cracker crumbs, chalky minerality and baking spices. Medium to full bodied on the palate with medium+ acidity, an expansive, dry extract-laced texture and vivid flavors of caramelized orchard fruits, citrus and minerals. Addictively good.

Lovely ripe fruit. Still showing stonefruit flavours along with slightly candied orange peel and hints of mandarin.

Recommend no decant as the fruit began to fade after 10-15mins in the glass and some oak spice became more noticeable.

Probably wine of the day in a lineup of 10 20+yr Burgs.

Had two bottles of this over the last week. One was a bit tired with not much fruit remaining. Drank a bit like an aperol with lots of grapefruit and lemon and just hints of berries. Not unattractive but clearly over the top. The other one was much fresher and fruitier with masses of almost over ripe strawberries. The perfect summer rosé. Score is for this second bottle. The first one 86-87 pts.

Situé dans le Cailleret, ce petit clos de quelques hectares au coeur du Cailleret est ici une parcelle de 37 ares qui donnent peu de bouteilles chaque année.
http://www.degustateurs.pro/article-la-cote-de-beaune-du-sud-au-nord-le-vignoble-de-puligny-montrachet-122660574.html
Vin exceptionnel !

EN version :)

0,37 Ha in the heart of the Caillerets cru, following the Montrachet, 3000 bottles max a year... opposed to the other cru from the Lambrays (Folatières) it really shows the depth and concentration of the Montrachet style. When the other is close to Meursault with more limestone, minerality and flintiness.

Wine at its peak, oily, creamy, rich but balanced thanks to a great acidity still present, hopefully opened the night before, complex and waxy, honey, the wine is deep and complex, one of the best whites tasted with the gang. Grand !!! Time to drink it !

Medium nose with notes of lemon, grapefruit, flora. Very sharp acidity and long finish. A very enjoyable white burgundy even though I prefer the Meursault buttery creamy style.

This was the 2nd of two bottles that were purchased. The first one was premoxed, and the second was questionable. Very strange nose - not butterscotch like the first, but almost like a wax candle. The nose blew off with a few hours and the tannins were a little grippy, with pale fruit showing through. This domaine has had a notorious problem with promox, so i would tread carefully.

Made partially with grand cru grapes. The 17 is very bright and very complex for a Rosé. Fresh red fruits, a little bit of dairy notes. Pair with soft cheese. Could also age it for a year or maybe more.

BBQ @ Chris and Cae's (Newton Suites): A bit funky for my tastes - this was quite an unusual rose. The nose almost smelt like a light Beaujolais, with strawberries and raspberries with some sous bois on the nose. The palate was bright and simple, with lemons at the forefront and shades of red berry fruit bringing up the rear, with a tingly spine of acid and mineral running the length of the wine. Not unpleasant, but this was more a summer quaffer than anything serious.

Mark's Rose Offline - part deux (Passione Vino): Very juicy and vinous - like a mature red Burg from a cooler vintage, but thinned out (that's not a pejorative!). Long, herbal, with a touch of smoke and some bite to it.

Wasn't sure how this would show having given up on them 2-3 years ago when they were quite astringent and disjointed. The wine has really come into its own now though. Absolutely delicious, classy red fruit with lovely balance and harmony. Good persistence on the finish. Shame I only have 1 left now!

The 2014 La Rose du Clos really lovely with lots of straw- and raspberries. Quite big bodied for a rosé but very fresh. Lots of pleasure to be had and the bottle is gone all too soon. A step up from the 2013 version, wich was also quite nice.
