Flight 1 (9 notes)

White
2006 Weingut Keller Riesling G-Max Germany, Rheinhessen
95 points
Minerals and nice cool fruit on the nose but still with a definite mark of botrytis like candied orange peel.
Honey dew melon and oily pear fruit on the palate and almost a little exotic. Not very powerful and also has a nice mineralic feel to it but again a little candied orange peel in the mid-long aftertaste.
After a few hours of decanting it shows a nice array of flowers and just more structured.
Will improve with a lot more age!

95 points
Full-bodied nose with some butter and hazelnuts but also yellow apples. Solid depth and leads of freshly baked bread and yeast.
Impressively fresh palate with lots of green apples but still some yellow fruits in the mid-palate. Medium-long aftertaste with an impressive touch of seawater and stones but also a hint of bitterness.
Beautiful wine!

Powerful and potent nose with dense yellow fruits, vanilla, yeast and bread.
Dense and full-bodied palate with rye-bread, a lot of sweetness and a quite expressive acidity.
Simply a stunning wine that is very drinkable and easy to love!!
Red
1990 Château L'Eglise-Clinet France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

Nose: Powerful dark plum fruit and still quite young. Lovely hints of seawater, sewer and little liquorice. Also a funny hint of banana and curry powder.
Palate: Dense dark cherry/plum with a touch of vanilla. A lovely fresh acidity with a hints of black currant fruit. Also a little leather, tobacco and liquorice.
Red
1986 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

A lot of black currant bush on the nose with hints of iron, rust and pencil shavings.
Very intense on the palate, again with lots of black currant bush, and a long "clean" acidic aftertaste.
Lovely flavors of coffee and dirt are mixed nicely with the fruit and have a impressive elegance and finesse to it.
Some aged flavors are also coming through with more air, rust, iron, cigar box, mushrooms.
A very refined elegance are showing nicely.
Red
1999 Schiavenza Barolo Riserva Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
94 points
Nose: Compact and filled with roses and marzipan but also a lot of camphor.
Palate: Start out just packed with fruits like red gooseberries and red currants followed by a very powerful, almost violent, acidity and a wall of tannins.
Clearly tasted way to young but still a pleasure to try!
Red
2000 Le Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve le Clos du Caillou France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
97 points
Intense nose with a lot of aged-meat notes but also a lot of spices. Lavender, black pepper and dark red cherries. Even some liqueur notes coming through and some soy.
The black cherry fruit on the palate is intense and concentrated but still feels quite cool and not overdone at all. There is also dirt and black olives but also seems to yield a little burnt dirt.
Very long and impressively spicy aftertaste but still quite fresh because of the acidity and balanced tannins.
A wild wine...
White - Sweet/Dessert
2001 Château Guiraud France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
94 points
Powerful botrytis nose with a delicious honey scent and very primary pineapple. Almost has a rubbery, glue style feel to it but also a lot of candied orange peel and coconut.
Heavy honey and orange-peel flavour with a lovely vanilla hint to it. Quite powerful sweetness but still slightly bitter in the aftertaste and just a hint of white pepper.
Lovely wine..

Rosé - Sparkling
2002 Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Grand Cellier Rubis France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
95 points
A lot of yeast and bread on the nose but also some cherry notes and a little almonds. Shifts into red currants with a little air.
Insanely young on the palate with an almost crazy acidity. Filled with red currants and freshly baked bread. Slightly bitter in the aftertaste with a little candied apple to it..
I just loved this wine due to its personality!!
