Piercing acidity and good depth. Developed flavors but still fresh. Lovely wine!

Had expected more from this wine but it is basically disappointing. Perhaps not supposed to be aged.
There was some lovely flavors of strawberry and red apples, but the wine seemed a bit "flat" and never really showed any depth. It had plenty of bubbles and did not show any signs of defects.
It was not bad, just not as good as hoped.

Red
2016 Hors Catégorie Vineyards Syrah Hors Catégorie Vineyard USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley

Dark cherries, liquorice, coffee and different spices. Overall, a nice impression, but there was a wall of tannins and the wine never really opened up.
The aftertaste is highly bitter which is something that I normally don't enjoy. It didn't interfere with me as much this time, but it did feel like the wine was slightly off balance.
Still, not a bad wine. It just needs time!

2013 Sine Qua Non Grenache Jusqu'à l'os Eleven Confessions Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast
96 points
Lovely intensity and balance but it also seem to be very closed at the moment.
There is plenty of things to enjoy but it is clear that this need more time in the bottle or a very long decanting before consumption.
The balance and intensity is impeccable but lacks depth and length at the moment.

2013 Sine Qua Non Syrah Le Supplément Eleven Confessions Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast
97 points
Dark and lush cherry fruit core with a very youthful style. There is some spices and complexity showing, but it really need more time in the bottle to really open up.
However, the freshness and balance certainly makes it a stunning experience. Lots of depth of fruit but also a very lovely balance with a lot of acidity.
The temperature of the wine must however be kept low, otherwise the alcohol will shine through a bit to much. Still, an amazing wine!
