Double blind. Pale color. Lime, citrus and grassy notes. The palate follows the bouquet. Really nice acidity carries the palate. I was absolutely convinced this was domestic sauv blanc. 89-90 pts.

Double blind. Pale color. Aromas of citrus fruit and grass, along with a strong jalapeño note. Grassy on the palate as well, with citrus fruit in abundance. There’s a richness to this that makes me think there is some semillon in the blend.

With only three whites in the lineup this was easy to identify as our bottle. Apple and mineral on the nose and palate. Drinking nicely. 90+ pts.

Double blind. Opens with a smoky note that gives way to a mix of red and black fruit, perfume, and just a hint of earth. Black cherry and dark fruit on the palate. (Z&C)

Double blind. Aromas of dark berry fruit and pepper. Ripe but not overly so. Black raspberry and pepper on the palate. Guessed zinfandel. (P&R)

Double blind. Deep ruby color. Notes of cherry and red fruit. Well-balanced, with flavors of cherry and spice as well as a hint of cola whihc had me guessing RRV. A rather pretty wine. (VD)

Double blind. Deep ruby color with aromas of cola, orange peel, black cherry and perfume. Very elegant and pretty. Medium-bodied with flavors of cherry, cola and orange peel. Despite the cola qualities this felt too light for RRV. I guessed SC pinot. Wine of the night for me. (DC)

Double blind. Dark color, opening with a reductive quality, with dark fruit, tapenade and pepper underneath. Medium-bodied with softened tannin and flavors of black fruit, tar and spice. Guessed CA syrah. 92+ pts.

Double blind. Big and jammy, with ripe raspberry fruit and peppery spice notes. Full-bodied. Loads of ripe red fruit on the palate. This seems very zin-like to me and what a surprise to see what was unveiled.

Double blind. Aromas of black fruit, vanilla and spice with herb undertones. Full-bodied. Flavors of black fruit and licorice with a long finish. Excellent. Guessed Napa cab sauv. 92+ pts.

Double blind. Aromas of herbs, red and black fruit and barrel spice. Medium-bodied with mixed red and black fruit on the palate and hints of vanilla and spice carrying through the finish. Tannins are a bit chewy. Easy to pick out as Napa cabernet. 89+ pts.

Double blind. Notes of black cherry, currants and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of black fruit, spice and vanilla. Good bit of wood, but there's enough fruit to balance it out. Big.

Blind. Aromas of tobacco, black fruit, leather and currants. Medium-bodied with soft tannin and flavors of currants, red berry fruit and cigar tobacco, with a long finish. Balanced. Really coming into a nice spot. My #2 in tonight's lineup.

In a lineup full of young cabs and pinots, this was easy to pick out as our bottle, which had been double decanted off its sediment about 3 hours before it went around the table. I was eager to see how the group would receive the wine as very few have any experience with wines that have even just a little age. For more than a few, it was a pleasant experience.

Double blind. Cherry, currant and rose notes. Medium-bodied. Cherry and macerated red berry fruit on the palate. This is on the lighter side, but has an elegance to it. Very nice.

Double blind. Ruby color. Light and elegant, with cherry compote and floral notes. Soft spice tones underneath. Flavors of cherry and clay. Elegant.

Terrific citrus and mineral with white floral accents. Focused; bright.
