From magnum.
Consistent with previous note.
Tangy but ripe apple on the nose.
Rich mousse, tangy, youthful palate.
I'm a fan of this but interested to see how it develops

On the nose - lemon and orange zest, sea air and a hint of iodine.
Despite the crisp nose it's rounder on the palate that the Roederer - some caramel apple but good tang to the finish.
Lovely!

White - Sparkling
N.V. Vouette et Sorbée Champagne Blanc d'Argile Brut Nature France, Champagne

Had heard about this producer on the Vinous forum. Supposedly from cuttings from Selosse and Dauvissat.

Lovely crisp fresh nose - lemon zest spritzed on smoked salmon, some sea air and a tiny amount of natural funk.
Palate delivers on the nose - great intensity and lazer like cut. Oysters and lemon served with a slap in the face (in a good way). This came to life with the crab and corn tart - complimentary to the richness.
Really rather lovely.

Well this was a treat.
On the nose lemon curd and a hint of cider.
Gorgeous and expansive on the palate - ripe apples, custard. Very long finish.

This passed my "Wine Searcher" test but was sad to see this is rare as hens teeth

Flight 3 (2 notes)

White - Sparkling
2008 Alfred Gratien Champagne Brut Millésimé France, Champagne

The nose reminded me of pasteis de nata - great pasty crust and custard - but also some freshness, like new cotton sheets.
Good intensity on the palate - moreish and with balanced acidity. Light mousse

Toffee apple kicks off the nose but some brown bread and sea air make this pretty intriguing.
Ripe and evolved on the palate - broad but juicy. Very long finish. In a great place!

Flight 4 (2 notes)

White
2018 Anne et Jean-Francois Ganevat Côtes du Jura La Gravière France, Jura, Côtes du Jura

This was on great form.
Perfumed amber nose speaking to some oxidative aspects.
The palate has wonderful tension between the rich oxidative elements (apple and pear slices starting to brown) and crisp keen acidity. Very moreish.

2013 Au Bon Climat Chardonnay Bien Nacido Vineyard USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley

Very rich vanilla and caramel nose but with a hint of mineral freshness that keeps things in check. Rich tangy palate.
This walks a very different tightrope to the Ganevat but is wonderfully balanced.
I also thought about how this compares to the Los Alamos - this is definitely richer and more exuberent

Flight 5 (1 note)

White - Sparkling
1985 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon France, Champagne

My first time having Dompers this old.
I thought it was gorgeous but can see how some thought this was edging over the hill.
Really rich caramel, mushroom and nut but a good cut of acidity to make this feel balanced. A treat to try this
