92 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
Great opulent nose. Deep dark rich fruit, vanilla and chocolate.
Palate doesn't match. Maybe this is in a dumb phase.
If the palate would hold up to the nose this would be some serious stuff.

Awesome. One of the top five wines. Fabulous structure and depth.
Loads of dark fruit and gravel. Scorched earth, licorice, mocha and lots of deep dried purple flowers.
The length is impressive. Awesome tannins structure with laser like acidity. Beautiful now yet this will ripen over the next decade or two.

Red
2003 Château La Mission Haut-Brion France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
93 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
This wine's overall character was different from the other's - especially those on the ticket table.
This wine's color was more of a deep ruby than the more opaque others.
The wine showed lighter berries with very intriguing spice.
Lighter in style but still awesome depth and complexity.
The finish went on and on for at least 45 seconds though it was as elegant a Bordeaux as I've ever sampled.
Red
2003 Château Pavie France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
94 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
Rich dark chocolate and dark fruit.
Very Old World in style.

96 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
Absolutely mind blowing. I completely understand the hype.
Tasting this was a truly memorable experience.
The focus and structure. Depth and complexity. So much going on.
Dark berries, chocolate, earth, dirt. Coffee, dark purple flowers.
The viscosity of the wine is somewhat sappy. The nose is absolutely flying out of the glass.
The finish lasted for almost a minute. This is the best French wine I've had to date.
I am in love. Speechless.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2005 Château La Tour Blanche Sauternes France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
93 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
Day bright golden in color.
Beautiful yellow apple and lightly roasted nuts on the nose.
Balanced palate. Very bright and lively.
Gorgeous. Glad I have two half bottles still on their way.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2003 Château d'Yquem France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
96 points
Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
The best white wine I have ever tasted. Absolutely mind blowing.
So much concentration with such length. I was speechless.
Lush rich and viscous in the glass. Almost molasses like but lighter in color.
Aromas leaping out of the glass. Lemon zest. Insanely bright lemon zest everywhere. Fresh grass, blue cheese and petrol.
So much SUN in this wine. It drinks like liquid gold. Such balance. Maple syrup notes on the nose and palate.
75 second finish. I'm sold. I don't see how it can get better than D 'Yquem in terms of Sauternes...possibly dessert wines all together.
