Label: Seventy kilometers away from the city of Mendoza, at the Andes foothills, lays one of the best kept secrets from the valley, that we now call The Gouguenheim Winery. With its vineyards located at more than 1000 m.a.s.l this unique terrior combines nature exceptional wonders and the art and craftsmanship of our professionals, who helped us define these great varietals for Estaciones del Valle. A secret that reveals itself in this bottle that we now share with you.

Review: Dear diary I woke up angry today. For I have had the Worst Malbec Ever! The only thing nice about this bottle is the sound it makes as you dump it down the drain. The bouquet is an awkward dusty strawberry nerds candy, mint leaf, brown sugar, shredded tires, burned orange peel and Windex combination. I gagged a little when it hit my palate. Flavors of Smokey charcoal, burned electrical wiring with asparagus juice. When you think it couldn't get any worse you are left with this undesirable vitamin C meets gritty beach sand on the finish. There is a reason this is the valleys best keep secret, it Sucks

Review: Dark purple color. If you were eating blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and knocked it over into the dirt then scooped it back up and held it to your nose that’s what this smells like. Flavors of blueberries, vanilla, oak and top soil on the palate. Pickup a little black tea on the finish. The finish dies on you quickly which is a little disappointing. I like their Merlot more.

Review: Dark purple color, its midnight in a glass. I get aromas of dark cherries, plum, canned mushrooms, poblano peppers and top soil, subtle leather satchel with a hint of green peppercorn. Lot's of American Oak. Flavors of smokey campfire, pea gravel, plum and oak. A little gamey on the finish. It's like someone unloaded several rounds of buckshot into a oak barrel of plums and then set the damn thing on fire. That's what’s in this bottle. Serious Heat, too much oak, tart acidity and medium dry tannins.

Review: This 2007 Zinfandel come from ThreeThieves.com, it has a nice garnet color. I get aromas of cherry Flintstone vitamins, Smuckers raspberry jam and dry cranberries, subtle sweet wood and black pepper with a hint of leather. Flavors of black raspberry and boysenberry on the palate. Big fake fruit bomb! It's like a lollipop dropped in the dirt on the mid-palate. Then it takes a turn for the worst. The finish is like a dead skunk in a bathtub of ocean spray cranberry juice with crystallized vanilla extract. This bottle makes me sad!

Label: Situated on New Zealand's East Coast, bordered by towering mountains, lies the township of Marlborough. Legend has it that the mountain's westward-raked vineyards were once patrolled by a peculiar winemaker named Old Man Martin, who had a slightly leftward lean. Together, the sloped vineyards and winemaker balanced to create the perfect fit. Staying true to Martin's legend, we offer you this refined Sauvignon Blanc with aroma's of gooseberry and tropical fruits. Enjoy the balance of fine wine and enticing flavors with Martin's Rake.

Label: In 1865, John G. Ray, a retired sea captain, opened Ray's Station Tavern amid the remote mountains of what is now Northern California's wine country. John was a no-frills guy and his Station was a local legend for its rugged no-nonsense hospitality. Libations flowed, the food was filling and the accommodations were rustic at best.

Ray's Station Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and broad-shouldered, not unlike the famed sea captain himself, with ripe dark fruit and undertones of vanilla spice.

Review: About 46% of the grapes in this wine come from Napa Valley, the other percentages are scattered amongst Alexander Valley, Lake County, Rutherford, Oak Knoll and Dry Creek. This 2006 is a blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petite Sirah, 1% Petite Verdot, 1% Merlot. Deep garnet color. 14.5% Alcohol. Label: This vintage of Chaleur Estate Blanc features grapefruit, gooseberry, orange blossom, and a bit of straw on the nose, with hints of grilled brioche and toasted almonds brought in by the barrel fermentation. Spring citrus notes of ruby grapefruit and gooseberry lead the rich and unctuous palate, supported by Sémillon-inspired notes of honey and fig. The finish echoes on with honey, crème brulée, and grilled nuts, along with subtle tropical fruits.

Review: This 2008 is 62% Sauvignon Blanc, 38% Semillon. It's a clear pale greenish yellow. I get aromas of melted sippy cup meets dragon fruit, subtle green pear and fig with hints of sugar cookie crumbled over an overheated circuit board. I enjoyed the nose on this wine so much I asked for another glass. Flavors of green apple and fig, subtle unripe green banana with a hint of citrus and honey. Very nice acidity and well balanced.

A classic red, using modern vinification techniques, that expresses the distinctive character of the indigenous Greek "Xinomavro" grape variety: vivid color, complex aroma, robust flavor and great ageing potential. Label: Georgia is the world's true birthplace of wine, with a history of production that dates back over 7,000 years. Katsiteli is the most recognized indigenous white wine variety, known for creating chateau whites of wonderful fruit and acid balance. When sourced from selected grapes of the finest micro-region and blended with another variety, Mtsvane, this wine can also be called Tsinandali and is the pride of the country.

At Mildiani Family Winery in the famed Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, we are well known for our award winning Tsinandali. It has a fragrant fruit bouquet, and a fresh yet refined tasted that is in perfect harmony with a delicately acidic finish. Delicious and refreshing on its own, but also ideal with lighter meals, fruit and cheese.

Review: This is my first wine I have tried from the Republic of Georgia. It's a blend of 80% Katsiteli and 20% Mtsvane. Katsiteli is also known as Rkatsiteli which is a white grape varietal that dates back as far as 3000 BC. Mtsvane is another white varietal that is often blended in to add a fruity, aromatic balance. First time I have tried those varietals very interesting grapes. This 2006 White Wine comes from the Mildiani Family Winery. It has 13.8% Alcohol and a pale gold color. I get aromas of Peach and Pear, subtle Lemon and Honey with hints of Cut Green Grass and Pea Gravel. The nose on this wine is very pleasant, it's pretty clean. I really like the bouquet on it. On the palate you get Minerality, Lemon, Lime and Bay Leaves, very subtle pear. There is something slightly off in this wine, tastes like Bitter Melon. Very tart and sour on the mid-palate, medium finish.

Label: Calcu means "magician" in the Macpuche language.

In this "Super Chilean" blend, winemakers Juan Alejandro Jofre and Ricardo Rivadeneira capture the diversity of the Colchagua Valley by combining the range of distinctive flavors into a single wine. Juan Alejandro and Ricardo artfully blend the mineral notes and fresh acidity of the grapes from the Andes foothills with the ripe tannins and red fruit from the center of the valley, and finally add richness and body from grapes grown closer to the Pacific Ocean. The resulting wine is lightly oaked allowing the grape's natural fresh fruit character to shine through.

Review: This 2006 Red Wine is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Carménère and 15% Cabernet Franc. Beautiful label, the watercolor on the label is by Salvador Amenaber. Nice deep purple color. 14.1% alcohol. The first thing that comes to mind with this wine is Coffee. I get aromas of Roasted Coffee Beans, Toasted Oak, Blackberry, Plum, Cherries, Top Soil and Pea Gravel. Subtle notes of Black Tea and Caramel with hints of Peppercorn. Label: Our Keyes Canyon Ranches are located in Paso Robles, 20 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. After sunset, temperatures drop as marine fog sweeps in, lingering until dawn. These cool evenings and warm days create a longer growing season, allowing grapes to ripen to perfection. We employ artisan winemaking practices such as gentle pressing and small barrel aging to craft world-class, deeply concentrated and intensely flavored wines. Estancia Merlot displays dense black plum, toasty vanilla, and bright berry flavors followed by a long, silky-smooth finish.

Review: This 2006 Merlot has a medium ruby color. Aged for 15 months in American and French oak with 25% new oak. I get aromas of plum, black cherry, violets, oak, tar and scorched earth. Pickup some subtle burnt circuit board and sweaty sock. Flavors of plum, currant, sour cherry and oak on the palate. To much oak on the finish. Medium, rounded Tannins with low acidity.

Label: Pride and passion, coupled with grapes from one of the most prestigious areas on earth, has produced this fine wine by Parkers Estate Sonoma County. This Zinfandel full of flavors of raspberry and blueberry has a kiss of oak and a long, smooth finish to be savored.

Review: This 2007 Zinfandel is a medium red color. I get aromas of blueberries, raspberries, boysenberry jam, wet rock, leather and nilla wafers and a hint of black pepper. There are some other fun subtle notes of earth, codeine syrup and crayola crayons on the nose as well. Flavors of blueberry, dark cherry, cranberry and a touch of black pepper on the palate. Lot's of fruit on the mid-palate. Oak and dark fruit on a long finish with soft tannins, balanced acidity. This Zinfandel is very fruit-forward. Blueberries really dominant the aroma and flavors of this wine! It's not as spicy and brambly like most of the Zinfandels I have been drinking lately. 12.5% alcohol so it doesn’t fall into the typical 14% to 15.5% range like most Zins you find at the store. For the price point it’s very good.

Label: The velvety texture and deep flavor of the small juicy berries of Malbec grapes are distinctively influenced by the environment in which they are grown. Our Uco Valley vineyards, high in the Andes foothills of Mendoza, enjoy the perfect combination of elements for growing this unique varietal. Intense sunlight, cool temperatures and dry conditions allow the fruit to slowly mature until handpicked for optimal flavor. The result is High Note's brilliant violet color accompanied by rich blackberry and black cherry aromas and tastes. www.highnotewine.com

Label: Robert Mondavi created the first Fume Blanc in 1966. A crisp, barrel-aged wine that captured the vivid character of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Our Fume Blanc exhibits bright citrus, melon, floral and mineral character from Napa Valley vineyards, and a silky texture from sur lie barrel aging.

Review: This 2006 Fume Blanc has the color of watery lemonade. I get aromas of white peaches, lychee, subtle rose pedal and a hint of cantaloupe and baby powder. Flavors of green fruits, peaches, and sprite. Lively acidity on a long finish.

This is the first Pinotage that didn't trigger my gage reflect. So already we’re off to a good start. Has a medium ruby color with a pink cotton candy rim. I get aromas of maraschino cherries, strawberries, scorched earth, pea gravel, spice box and oak with a subtle smokiness and a hint of dry banana chips. There is a little heat on the nose, but it’s not off-putting. Flavors of blackberries, sour cherry pez candy and a hint of tobacco. This wine is also a little meaty to me. I’m picking up some burnt hotdog on the palate as well. Lot's of fruit on the mid-palate and soft, low tannins with smooth acidity. Light bodied with a medium finish.

Review: This Bottle is a blend of Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. 13.5% Alcohol. A medium garnet color. I get aromas of Dusty Prunes, Moss and Soil with hints of Mushrooms and Beetroot. Not very aromatic. You have to close your eyes and try really hard with this bottle. Flavors of Oak, Cherry Brandy and Blackberry on the palate. Very disappointing to me on the finish, because there is none. Low Tannins with Flabby Acidity. There is no structure to this at all. It's a warm Capri Sun minus the Sugar and Fruit.
