This wine was lighter than I thought that it would be given the 14.5% and did have some of the bright raspberry fruit one would expect from RR. However there was a bit of a prune/oxidation aroma in the wine that I wouldn't have minded so much in a Syrah, but a bit off for a Pinot.

At first, we weren't sure how we felt about the wine. After all, a 2000 rosé?! But as the flavors developed we fell in love. Almost in between a white and a red. A waxy, petrol that dances in the mouth and is absolutely amazing with food. A rare find and if you see it on a wine list or shop, do it!

Great aromas of pear and minerality. One could almost taste the collaboration between France and Oregon on this wine. Slight oak, but not overbearing. A very balanced wine.

When I first opened it seemed out of balance, way to sweet with acid or complexity. After several months in fridge it developed a richness and more complete mouthfeel.

Rich flavors of pear, apple, and some oak. Good minerality and fruit on the palate but balance by some acidity and touch of astringency keeping it from being over the top. Not usually a Kistler Fan, but this was impressive.
