This just isn’t good. Bright, crunchy, and funky - but none of these in a good way.

Batting way above it’s price. Excellent QPR at $16.

Just kinda gross. Trying way too hard.

Way too hot on opening, but a few hours later, a lot of the EtOH was gone, and then this was potable.

Overdone if every possible way. Ridiculous and desperate.

Super fruit forward. You might mistake it for a supermarket zin.

The other reviews indicate this is exactly what it was aiming to be - a domestic version of a notoriously tannic but light-bodied wine.

We bought this at the winery, at the end of one of the most intimate tours ever. My tasting today is uncolored by that though. This is just simply amazing.

Great acid and earthiness. Could be mistaken for old world. Amazing stuff.

Petrol for days. Slightly sweet. Reminds me of an old-world Riesling.

Purchased at the winery and tasted again now. Smokey and dark fruit. I would have probably called this a Syrah if tasted blind.

Heavily extracted, syrupy, almost oily. Overdone and flabby for the most part. Horrible QPR.

An austere, old-world style of PN that fits great with fruit. A great mid-point for Burgundy and Oregon.

Still a lot of green in this one. I felt like this was more well-rounded 8 months ago and even better 1.5 years ago. Drink up.

Nothing particularly right or wrong here. No faults, no strengths. Fruity. It epitomizes California Pinot Noir.

Exactly what a domestically-grown/made Italian varietal should be: plenty of grippy tannins and old world funk with just enough CA fruitiness to round it out.

In 2017, there was plenty of crystalline, white sediment in the bottle of 2015. It didn't affect the taste, but it led me to believe, for better or worse, that it's time to drink up. I remember this as excellent a year ago. It's just great now. But don't delay.

No matter how many times I open one of these bottles, I'm blown away. This is not a wine for the faint of heart. It's all power. Dark fruit and baking spice with tons of vanilla. This is the type of wine that many people hate for being over-manipulated. But I say "bump that noise," because this is gluttony at its best.

Lots of green pepper and herbs on this one, less fruit than I remember from just 6 months ago. That may be a factor of it having followed up an enormous fruit bomb in El Nido Clio.

A weighty, but not overdone version of Riesling. Mainly minerality, but this isn't just fluff.

The last four bottles I'd opened were disappointing for one reason or another (primarily the QPR). But, wow, this one blew me away. Only difference was food (gigantic ribeye) and, maybe more importantly, a few hours of air before quaffing.
