ready to drink. Needs a few minutes to open up and for the funk to blow off. Mostly aged tertiary notes at this point. Lean but long finish.

This is delicious right out of the gate. The oak is well integrated and it still shows some youthful fruit.

Has a slight honeyed start with clean fruit flavors and nice acidic finish. Save the last bottle to see what it does.

The oak is starting to fade showing lots of dark fruits and earthy flavors. Still tannic and a little tight. Has years ahead of it.

Takes a little for it to open up and for the oakiness to take a backseat to the fruit.

VERY earthy. There is a enough background fruit and sweetness, but this is all about everything else. Still not fully resolved, but drinking great now.

This started out pretty closed and oaky. After an hour it started to open up. It is definitely on the new style spectrum, with its sweet and deep fruit.

What a beautiful wine. Would have never guessed grenache, but who cares? It is light with bright fruit, yet, earthy and animalistic. All that for less than $15. I am definitely going back for more.

Not quite sure what to think of this. I had a glass last night and it went very well with chicken and roasted veggies. Tonight I am sipping the rest and it is missing something. I am more used to drinking cabs with a heavier handed oak treatment and I think I may actually be tasting the cabernet grapes and missing the oak. Note to self - drink in one sitting next time.

First bottle since tasting it with Pax at the winery and it did not disappoint. Earthy, meaty, fruity with a nice acidic zing all while being light bodied.

The second half of a bottle opened last weekend. This has filled out. The sweetness and fruit are in better balance with the green and earthy flavors.

Had this at the winery last week and it is a fantastic example of a cool climate syrah handled with a light tough. Full of tart fruits, pepper and earthy goodness.

Yes its a $30+ bottle of bojo, but it also has an extra layer of flavors that most others lack. This is fantastic.

One of the better Ridge wines I have had in a while. It is certainly big, but it shows an earthiness that is lacking in many of their other ATP wines.

Much better than the last bottle. This is a very nice wine that is still a youngster. It is big, fruity, shows some toasty oak and rounds it out with some acidity. That being said, I am not sure it is my style any more.

Great QPR. There is still some primary fruitiness after it has had time to open up. Mix that with the balanced acidity and slight earthiness and its a nice bottle of wine.

Yet anther bottle that I am not sure about. Initially it was tight and hot so I gave it a "Mollydooker Shake" thinking that the wines were similar in composition. It definitely helped. Not a bad wine, but not one that I will likely buy again. An 09 Tres Picos that I drank side by side, while less earthy, was much more pleasurable.

Very sweet and ripe for Pegau. The fruity and plum flavors dominate with just a little of the minerality and earthiness I adore in pegau. No brett and decent acid. A great wine by normal standards, but only an OK Pegau for me. Nothing wrong or flawed, just my least favorite vintage of 99, 00, 01, 03, 04-07. Too round.

A little prickly when first tasted. Maybe a little refermentation?

There is a nice strawberry note followed by an earthy finish.

An interesting wine.

when first opened, it tastes like a ripe zin or amarone. With some air, it shows more acidity which helps balance the ripeness. This is definitely on the larger, riper side of CDP. The fruit is intense and deep, but it doesn't cross the line to overripeness.

Although it had wax on the top it looked as though the cork was a little pushed. The cork was fully soaked when extracted. For the first hour I was not liking it much. It started to open up, but I am hoping that it is an off bottle because it is still just OK. Lots of acidity, some fruit, some mushroomy earthiness.

I let this sit for a few hours to open up. It has nice meaty saline flavors when you first taste it and then ends with some sweet smokiness. Seemed more restrained than the 07 Humboldt that I tried last night.

This is a fantastic cabernet that is still young and primary. Hits the palate with nice bright acidic fruit and then transforms into plummy, jammy rich fruit at the end. An extremely long finish.
