My Open That Bottle Night 2024 selection. This 22-year-old wine can hold for at least three to five more years. The wine is ruby in color, showing only the slightest rim variation. The nose has red and black fruits, particularly red currents, red and black cherries, and plums. There is also a hint of eucalyptus on the nose. The palate is amazing. There is an abundance of black fruits, such as cassis and black cherries. There is also forest floor and vanilla. The wine has noticeable sediment, rounded tannins that have clearly softened, with medium acidity, leading to a medium finish.

The wine is a dry Trocken, presenting pear, white apple, tropical fruits on the palate. There is an earthy minerality. The wine is medium bodied, with medium acidity, body, and legs, leading to a delightful finish.

We paired it with an incredible Thai meal of mussels in coconut broth, Spinach Salad, crab puffs, and eggplant with fresh basil.

2010 Endre (53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc aged in both French and Hungarian oak) is very Bordeaux like. Notes of bouquet garni, red and black currants and loamy soil are present in this medium-bodied wine that seems to be a fast evolving effort. With excellent texture as well as an elegant style.

Can you spell W-O-W? Just look at that sediment! An unbelievable nose of red fruits, particularly pomegranate and red cherries, and prunes. It also exhibits sage, leather, cinnamon sticks, and fig. The palate is a brew of stewed cherries, earth, and red meats. The body is fantastic. Not thin at all. 13% ABV. This has aged magnificently! If only I had bought more!

The legs are slow, showing off a 14.90% ABV. The wine has silky texture. This Pinot is one of the best I have had this year.
