Good, solid shiraz, but past its best.

Almost certainly past its best, this was lean and acidic, with just a hint of citrus.

This wine has got better and better. It is now mature, spicy and earthy, yet retains its pure berry fruit. Just lovely, and a great shame that this is my last bottle.

A crowd-pleasing red, still drinking well.

Dark and brooding but approachable in a way that young Bandol isn't. I wish I had more of this.

Good structure - some chunky tannins which meant that the wine went perfectly with dinner. Plummy, and nice enough, but a bit heavy for our tastes.

Simple, quaffable wine. Finishes a little hot.

Either we drank this too young (a judgement suggested by the drinking window) or it's simply not a claret to my taste. Not that it seemed a bad wine, but it was too thin, even reedy.

Dull. You get what you pay for, I suppose, but the first of these was lovely. Disappointing.

Offputtingly barnyardy on the nose. A decent wine underneath, but I have to admit disappointment - especially as I have so enjoyed other Treloar wines.

Very enjoyable chardonnay. Rich, yet restrained.

Good, but not great. I'm glad I didn't forget this last bottle - it needed to be drunk.

Still some way to go before this wine hits its peak. That said, it's lovely now - rich and subtly spicy.

Still nice but, having enjoyed several AJ Adam Kabinetts from the same vintage, this pales in comparison.

Stewed, as might be expected of a wine of this quality and of this age.

Lovely - really mineral from the start, while the rich, spicy fruit became ever more apparent as we drained the bottle.

Rather muted minerality and citrus notes. Pleasant enough.

Enjoyable. I'm glad I found it, hidden away in the under stairs cupboard, as it has little more, if anything, to give.

A nice, refreshing wine, but I was hoping for more spritz. It would be going too far to say that it disappointed, but it was rather flat. Drink up.

Fine, if rather thin. I preferred the Craggy Range merlot we drank a week or so earlier.

Too much oak on the nose. Settled down later and became a typically smooth quaffed that belies its 14.5% alc. Having belatedly read the TNs here, I will definitely decant the next bottle.

Last bottle of this. What a shame! It's lovely stuff: smooth, rich and thoroughly enjoyable with a rib-eye steak and chips.

Classic CNDP. Wild strawberries and spice on the nose, with meaty, secondary characteristics developing (developed? Who knows? That, unfortunately, was my last bottle.)

I enjoyed this. I don't drink much malbec, but this was just the thing with a big hunk of bavette. Plummy, smooth, and with enough acidity to keep it interesting.

I'm a fan of the ordinary La Gitana (in fact, I'm slightly suspicious of anybody who isn't). This version is richer and more evocative of the sea air. At more than twice the price, however, the law of diminishing returns is most definitely in operation.

Velvety fruit, chocolate, spice, and a subtle smokiness. Elegant, if a little warm. As good as NZ syrah gets?

Lovely nose, a rush of violet-scented forest fruit. Typically warm, spicy, brambly Aussie shiraz.
