This is an excellent Zin. Complex and attractive nose. Plenty of fruit but not jammy or hot. Very well balanced.

I haven't had one of their wines in decades, so it's a pleasure to see them doing so well with this wine.

This bottle was a late release (2014) from the winery. Literally superb - fresh, fully resolved, complex. A real delight and one of the best Rioja's I've had in many a year.

Amazingly approachable and quite open when initially poured after decanting. Tasted more like Graves than it smelled, with a hauntingly complex nose of fruit, forest and spice. Really lovely with many years ahead, but fine tannins make it drinkable now.

Probably the best of the Cepparello's from this era. Closed and shy at first but opened magnificently. Completely delicious, long and harmonious and we were sorry to see the last drops go into our glass from the bottle.

A big surprise - this wine has settled down immensely and is now a delicious drink. Plenty of life ahead, but it's now time to enjoy it.

This wine has blossomed spectacularly from previous tastings. Delicious now and perfect to drink. Still vibrant with freshness yet complexity. A winner!

This wine was amazing. By far the best dry German Riesling I've had, ever. Dry, but intense - not floral and no impression of fruit sweetness. Amazing depth and very long finish. A revelation.

Very tight and lean, much like an excellent Chablis. If you are looking for big Chardonnay, run away, but a very interesting and valid style which you never see much anymore.

In perfect condition. Darker than the 1978. An amazing wine that is still quite young and vibrant.

This wine is in extremely good condition.Great yellow/green color, complex full nose, very clean and rich but not fat. Excellent length and acidity. Drink now and for another 5 years before it dries out.

2001 Robert Foley Claret Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Unlike more recent vintages, this wine clocks in at 14.1% alcohol and as such is not an overripe, goopy jam bomb. In fact, it's balanced and delicious, while also having great intensity. Great Napa juice! I hope Robert Foley figures out how to make such outstanding wines again as the more recent ones are way too much for me. Such a shame that wines such as this 2001 are so difficult to find in the current day.

Still lovely after all these years. Last bottle I had was not nearly as vibrant. Classic Napa Cabernet nose, excellent depth. Delicious, particularly with a steak!

Definitely not past its prime in this case. Lovely fruit, medium long finish. Classic Brunello. It was best out of a Riedel Brunello glass, something not always the case with Brunello's as I have discovered.
