I was wowed by this wine. I did not expect to like it but I liked it more than the Stags Leap Napa 2012 the night before. It reminded me of a BV Tapestry by having a little more blended flavor. If I can find it I will put it in my cellar for drinking next year.

I purchased my first 5 without tasting on a good recommendation. I found a second source for the wine and decided to try one before buy more at a slightly higher price. I am glad I did. 2012 is shaping up to be an historic vintage. This wine was terrific and i think it is going to get better with aging. There is the unmistakable Oakville Napa cab flavor. The stunning bouquet and flavor makes me want to drink them now. But the tannins promise even more of both if we are patient and wait a few years. I will wait, because I bet it's going to a stunner! I bought everything I could find and look forward to 2019! Magic Door has the quality of a wine twice it's value. Hoard it if you find it.

I held this for 4 years hoping it will be better than the last review. My expectations were low. I was surprised. It's not a wine with strong flavors, but the flavors it does have are nice! Day 2 the wine is even better. No stale flavors. I liked it.
