4/23/17, 7:31 AM - Wizlb,This was a glass pour from the bottle and was tasted over four hours, I believe the bottle was opened two hours prior. At this price point, Grange deserves 20 years in the cellar before opening your first bottle. There are many more less expensive wines to open earlier. We purchased a '96 for dinner that night, decanted and consumed over 4 hours. Decanters are a great way to enjoy the development of wine over time as it is exposed to air.I have purchased older vintages to drink whilst I wait for the younger bottles to mature, it all depends on your palate preferences as to whether you drink younger or older bottles, and the quality of the wine to improve with age.

1/9/15, 3:44 PM - Google translation to English, with thanks to d'Artagnan."A version that seems more polished over the Monts Damnes, but it is probably just more mature, because it is high in tank.On the nose, candied lemon and fresh herbs, tarragon. The harvest was probably ripe for it Sancerre shows a beautiful fruit, a nice richness, with a healthy acidity that enhances and brings all the natural freshness of the appellation. The finish is long and subtle. This is a very nice Sancerre, with more flesh than the average, which therefore seems plumper, less sharp than other wines of the appellation, superbly balanced. Secure future. 93 ptsFrom memory, the Monts Damnes "regular" was more open and mineral, I know which I prefer, it would take together."

11/2/14, 11:25 PM - Happy to hear my note was helpful mulligan452. Only a quick TN at the Emirates lounge in Rome, much rather a sit down with the bottle over a number of hours or days if required.Having no prior knowledge of the Producer I called it as I found it in the glass. That said, the current release ('09) is five years old which suggests the Producer knows this wine needs time, and CT users suggest a start on the drinking window of 7-9 years on differing vintages and I would agree, the '08 could use another two or three in the cellar. I do like to let my wines lie in the cellar and CT users suggest a drink by date of 12-17 years, vintage depending. However, '08 may be regarded as a lessor vintage in Tuscany, and make for earlier drinking than other fruit focused years, with a half bottle maturing in two-thirds of the drinking window of a 750ml.
8/25/14, 5:42 PM - My thoughts exactly.
6/23/14, 12:07 AM - Google Translation, hopefully, accurate..A nose of caramelized pears, lemon confit.acidity seems to me relatively low and rather round, rather than cutting. The final brings sensations of hot stone and chalk, with proper length, but relatively modest for the domain. After Boulay halftone This confirms that 2011 is a hot year in the label, which lacks depth. Fortunately, it is framed by two magnificent vintages in 2010 and 2012.In short, a nice wine but not at the highest achievements in the field. 89 pts
5/28/14, 2:24 PM - Google translation for our non-Swedish users (hope you don't mind MWIKING, and hope Google translates correctly)."fine nose, slightly oily on the nose, caramel, dark fruit, black cherry, raspberry licorice, violets. taste, slightly soft wine, very cherry, very tannins which adheres to the palate, very stylish and will probably evolve into something big later on. needs time."
5/3/14, 8:22 AM - If there were such a wine which could be described as 'Nectar of the Gods,' then THIS is it!I could write no better tasting note than that of Paul S, and so with all credit due, would like to repost his tasting note in exaltation of a great wine, and a true connoisseur in Paul S, and his eloquent elevation of text to the rarified air of prose which Angels speak. Thank you Paul S.
