Definitely a big bodied wine but I don’t think it has too much alcohol. Lots of dark berry and plum with a peppery lift on the palate. medium finish and pleasant with food.

Wild strawberry and black cherry are complimented by savory herbal aromas and flavors. Super smooth tannins make for a silky texture. Definitely in its prime!

This one has evolved very well and exceeded my expectations. Rich tannins and well integrated oak complement the juicy cherry and berry flavored palate. Chocolate and tobacco round out a great finish.

Not as big of a Pinot as many other Tens have been from other vintages. Still medium full palate but less big fruit, more subtle layers of cherry complimented by an herbal savory character. If you like fruit, drink up.

This was definitely still vibrant with dark cherry and plum aromas complimenting chocolate and tobacco savory notes. Tannins are angular and bold offering structure which will continue softening with time and improve the over the next couple years. Aromatics are persistent in this one!

Aging nicely and the oak is driving some nice aromas and flavors. Nose is perfumed with cedar, spice, and leather with some dark currant and plum fruits. Guessing this will continue getting better but drinking well now.

This was juicy but not too much of a fruit bomb. Layers of strawberries and cherries with a subtle earthiness. Mineral driven palate complemented by great fruit on the medium plus palate. 30+ second finish. Wish I had another.

Really different from a lot of the other Patz Chardonnay’s I’ve had. Orchard fruits and floral notes are primary on the nose and it is full bodied but doesn’t have any nutty or buttery characteristics. I like the fuller Patz Chards as well but this is a nice change of pace.

To clarify, this was not a Port but a dry Douro red blend. Last of 2 of this one which we brought back from Portugal. Great alternative for an Italian or Bordeaux Cab lover.

Had this for Christmas dinner with Prime Rib. Decent pairing given the age of the wine mellowing over time into a dark, leathery character but I would say if you like a lot fruit it’s past its prime. I tend to like more secondary characteristics but this one had faded a bit too much. Last one of 2 which I bought directly at the winery in Haro, Spain.

I realize why one of the other reviewers didn’t care for this wine. They indicated they love Patz & Hall as do I but this wine is clearly a lighter wine which is less rich than many of the other offerings. It’s a medium-light palate and they are accurate regarding the dried rose and sage surrounding strawberry and pomegranite on the nose. Great acid and was excellent with the Mediterranean turkey meatballs we had for dinner.

Opened this next to a 2016 vintage. We liked the ‘16 better as it had more complexity including some yeast/bready aromas. Darker more caramel color as well. The 2018 needs more time.

Delicious. Great aromatics with loads of dark berry and plum at the center of perfumed oak influence and age driving tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, and sandalwood. Dark and brooding palate with nice acidity and well mellowed tannins. Gave it a 2 hour decant before drinking.

Very tasty. A big pinot but lots of layers of red and blue fruit penetrated by herbs and some spice. Super long finish that lingers for more than 30 seconds. I’m would say this is my favorite Pisoni to date.
