Nose starts off herbal, then red fruits come forward, and later floral notes come through. Palate is mostly cherry. There is good acidity with big chewy tannins. Very slightly hot on the finish, which is long. This needs some time to fully integrate, but shows great promise today. (50+5+12+16+8)

Served at 55. Dark purple. Blackberries and some mild vanilla on the nose, maybe some pepper or spice as well. Some nice fine tannins and mild acidity. Medium finish. Doesn't excel in any category, but inoffensive as well. Okay for a weekday drinker.

Initially, I poured this at 55 through a Venturi. The nose was overpowered by tobacco/oak. It tasted medium+ in acidity and low in tannins. Felt unbalanced. Was really close to dumping the rest out when I tried it straight from the bottle, with about 30 minutes in the glass. The fruit finally came out (better on day 2), and the secondary scents died down. The tannins were more noticeable and the acidity was lower. Was more balanced. My tasting score reflects the better of the two tastings.

Blackberry, dark cherries, very (dark) fruit forward. Hard to pick up any secondary scents. I felt the nose was a little muted relative to the flavor, which was BIG. Medium body, acid, and tannin. Medium+ finish. Just amazing.

Decent nose. Dark fruit and cherries. Oak. Maybe tobacco. Gave this over an hour after opening. Very high in acidity. Finish is short to medium. Tannins are unripe. Unbalanced.
