See my previous note, very pleasant and a great wine to drink, but not much evolution since last time and still lacking complexity. A somewhat unidimensional behemoth.

Really in a nice spot now, lots of material with good freshness to give a very pleasant experience.

See previous note, the wine is less expressive and more monolithic compared to the first bottle. Nothing wrong with it though.

This wine (third and last bottle from the same batch) was completely different from what it used to be. I guess you could say that about a lot of things, but here the nose was completely muted and there were almost no aromas emerging, even after some time with air. Only on day 2 did the distinguished Vosne spice aromatic profile start to show itself, although very faintly. Really unusual for a Burg, the palate was in place and didn't appear disjointed, but lacked stuffing and almost fell diluted. Short length. This clearly didn't age well.

Very young and almost mute at opening, the wine appears extremely fruit-driven after a while but lacks depth and complexity. Extremely pleasant and easy to drink with smooth and delicate palate touch. No real personality at this stage, so would probably wait before opening a bottle

Very pleasant at the moment, the nose is clearly fruit driven with some signs of aging. Black fruit, very ripe aromatic profile. The palate is admirable, great tannin quality, good volume and very enjoyable. Maybe a tad monolithic at this stage, complexity should increase with more aging (or not...)

Light and energetic, classy nose with complexity and the ash scents very often found in Etna wines. Palate a bit on the thin side, but very interesting. Maybe already a bit past its optimal drinking window

Elegant and well balanced, with already signs of evolution but no striking personality. Miles away from the 1990 Sandrone reference point. Not sure there is the stuffing to see this one improve with more age...

Beautiful red colour, surprisingly light for a Languedoc wine. Beautiful, clean and fruit-driven nose typically reminding one of ripe Cabernet Sauvignon. Classical profile and very pleasant. The palate is good but a slight sweetness is discernible and the mid-palate appears a bit thinner than what could be expected. Very easy to drink nonetheless and the structure of the wine is finely wound together. Very good and can probably a wait a couple of years but not sure this will evolve significantly.

See previous note. A fine Barbaresco, subtle and pleasant but nowhere near the presence of a good Barolo.

The color is a nice dark red but the aromatic profile is still very primary with a tightly wound fruit patttern. The wine doesn't reveal itself until the next day where suddenly complexity appears and the structure becomes wider and lighter. THe structure is clearly there but time is of the essence here.

Dark red colour, few signs of evolution. Dark fruit aromatic profiles, very ripe aromas, still very primary with elevage notes. A bit unidimensional. Medium palate, more on the heavy side. Very "modern" with the volume and ripe fruits profile but completely in balance. Good length. Very good and easy to drink at this stage, but not the idea I have of a Volnay wine.

The nose is elegant, dominated by black fruits with some spiciness but is somewhat uni-dimensional. Palate clearly lacks stuffing, almost thin for a premier cru and there is a slight drying towards the end. A relative deception. Drink up.

Dark color, evolved nose with black fruit profile, animal scents and spices. Very aromatic and pleasant despite a slight fungus trace. Palate is quite delicate, good fruit and many tertiary aromas. Extraction is moderate but structure is fine with tannins present and detectable. Moderate length. Moniale is a bottling from young vines sourced from the producer's monopole - clos des varoilles in the same climat (Varoilles).

Rich and opulent nose with ripe fruits, honey and oak clearly apparent. Full bodied, rich but also very well balanced with tonic energy and very good length. This is a wine that would put many Charlemagne to shame.

Dark red colour, few signs of aging. Nose was a bit funky at opening but stabilized quickly. A typical left-bank nose, fresh and pleasant but with little complexity. Cabernet clearly dominates. Palate is better, medium to high balanced, good structure and balance, more complexity too and a fine acidic tension. The finish is linear. Decent but not the best '86 Pomerol.

Dark red color. Great aromatics, clearly tertiary but with distinguished flowery elements you pick up in top mature Burgs (not the typical dry rose/tea thing though). Full bodies palate with abundant tannins, some sweetness is perceptible. In the beginning, an unpleasant tart taste led me to think the bottle was compromised, but this eventually disappeared. Great length and great class. Top VN in my book!

Pale red color, with clear bricking at the rim. Nose is developed but still dominated by fruit, elegant and complex aromatics which immediately remind one of Pinot Noir's class. Medium bodied, lithe and nimble with good depth, beautiful lacework- really easy to drink. Brilliant finish. Perfect now but can probably be enjoyed over the next couple of years

Dark red color with little sign of aging. Nose is more advanced with leather combined with all kinds of fruit aromatics. The palate is rich and opulent, almost a tad too heavy. Good finish but not the most delicate or elegant Pomerol.

Fine but did not gain any weight or presence with additional age. Somewhat simplistic compared to a random Echezeaux from Potel, so not really up there with the best PNs. Good village/average PC level would be a more correct appreciation of this wine's showing.

Perfect cork. Opulent and rich, the nose evokes immediately black fruit with some (but not too many) tertiary aromas. Elevage notes are also present but harmoniously blended. The aroma profile evolves with time without deteriorating or losing in focus. The palate betrays the wine's class, elegance and volume combined with a perfect balance. Mouthfeel is very seductive but never overwhelming, truly classy- Again, elevage is present but without disturbing the ensemble. Great length, a true Grand Cru from an opulent year.

Screwcap. Beautiful golden colour, nose shows evident signs of maturity but the fruit doesn't appear overripe or cooked. Very few oxidation notes on the nose and the fruit is still very present. Little variety and evolution with time. Palate is extremely pleasant, good acidity and medium body. Length is somewhat moderate. Will last a couple more years.

See my previous note, the elegance is still there and the wine has clearly progressed towards a tertiary aromatic profile, but wine's quick evolution after opening and a somewhat sharp metallic tinge in the finish leads me to think that the wine is maybe drying up and should be drunken soon.

Slight stable smell, together with evolved fruit profile and dominance of aromatic herbs. Palate is thin to medium bodied, elegant but lacking stuffing. Acidity is in balance but the wine requires food to be drunken with. Not a modern Rhone, quite the opposite. I wonder whether this bottle shows some defaults or if it is the result of a challenging vintage

Well developed nose, color is more on the deep side of the yellow. Rich aromatic profile, some oxydation or evolution notes. Wonderful palate, rich and vinous. Great tension and good lift towards the end. Even though there are tons of material here, wine is very easy to drink. A point!

Nowhere near the previous bottle, this one had a cork seepage problem (thoroughly wet cork and wine present between cork and capsule). As a result, the nose was rather simple and dull and in the palate there was a lack of complexity together with a sharp, rather abrupt finish. Shame.

Nose is fantastic a couple of hours after opening (no decanting), the fruit aromatic profile is extremely elegant and vibrant with normal evolution for a wine of that age. Palate is completely harmonious, without any weakness or traces of leanness, beautifully pure and structured. Not as powerful as what can be expected of a typical chambertin, closer to a CdB in its balance and with great length. La classe!

Powerful but somewhat simple, monolithic nose, aeration opens it up and brings a bit more elegance. Ripe black fruits, herbs and chocolate. Full bodied, opulent with impressive amounts of very ripe tannins. Enough acidity to keep it in balance. Built to impress. Perfect to drink now!

The wine is very approachable with polished tannins, but I have problems to perceive its personality. This is a well-made Cabernet Franc from ripe and clean fruit, my question is "ou est le terroir?"

Color shows signs of evolution and has a nice shine, but also shows some concentration. Nose is fantastic, clearly tertiary with the black fruits/earthiness often found in Gevrey wines with some age. Medium-bodied palate, lithe but dense, very good acidity and a rather long finish with a distinct metallic note (not unpleasant) noted by others. A real treat right now and very representative of the appellation.

Lack distinction and refinement, the material is present and of high quality but the elevage dominates both on the nose and in the mouth thereby reducing considerably the win'es interest. No match for a 2007 les Claux imho.

Classic burgundian nose where white flowers and elegance dominate, no buttery nor fat aromas travel to the nose. Palate is beautiful, very good equilibrium with lots of acidity and good constitution (medium-bodied), very good length and no discernible traces of elevage. Not the typical in-your-face Meursault, more Puligny in its balance.
