Wow - I expected a disappointing experience 9 years later ... however this wine was great for a Sunday night with a strip steak cooked on a cast iron skillet. Yes it's probably past it's prime, but I tend to cellar my wine at 54 degrees which I feel preserves it past it's so called "prime" - it was a burst of good fruit with a short finish but a very good surprised when I was convinced that my $$$ wasn't wasted completely

Decanted 2 hours - excellent nose of dark/red fruit. Fruit forward on palate with dark fruit, tannins not harsh at all, a little heavier than medium but not full bodied like a big Cali Cab. Very smooth on mid palate and the finish is great with a slightly smoky-ish, peppery finish that lasts 30+ seconds - I enjoyed it with a bone in ribeye and it was actually quite tasty with gourmet black raspberry chip ice cream and gluten free brownies!!!

Decanted 3+ hours. Dark fruit on the nose. Tannins were tame, full bodied. Very interesting cassis and blueberry on the palate, quite smooth. Paired awesome with hickory grilled rib eyes - when sipping with the rib eye in my mouth I got a very rich, delicious charcoal taste in my mouth that was actually very nice - very happy with my choice of bottles for a Sunday holiday dinner !!!

Didn't realize the blend either like many tasters. Great nose on decanting. First taste about an hour later showed a big glass of big tannins .... Whoa - didn't think I would like however it softened up a bit after 3 hours and I enjoyed it with a steak - clearly Cab Franc overpowering a palate that was expecting a sangio blend!!!! Decant for 3-4 hours and it will be quite good - I may wait a few years to try the next bottle.

Realized I had 5 left when I recently moved my cellar. Thought it was past it's prime and decided to try one. Decanted for 2-3 hours; minimal sediment; prominent fruit nose while pouring into decanter (good sign); excellent blue fruit on the attack with medium tannins; smooth finish; great on its own but also pairs nicely with food; confident now these will last another 3-5 years but may drink them all now !!!
