Wonderful, elegant and delicious. red cherry, dark fruit and herbs with a hint of earthiness. Very balanced and drinkable at the moment. Started a bit heavier, but once it got a little air it really opened up.
Will certainly last a few more years and possibly even improve, but if you have more than one it is worth a try at this point.

Decanted 30 minutes. Fruit forward and easy drinking. Not much tanin, though what is there softened over next few hours. Hoping other vintages are more complex as this leaves a little to be desired. Not going to die any time soon, but not sure that it improves much from here though another 5+ years could lead to some tertiary notes.

This is a big wine. Needs quite a bit more time to calm down... Initial nose and palate are strikingly similar to a syrah, but calms down after a few hours of time in decanter. Hold for a few more years. Has potential for 95+

Drinking beautifully at the moment. Obviously a cooler weather, mountain vineyard. Still retains a nice acidity that meshes well with the tannins. Bold nose and full palate.
This one should still have some time left, but likely not getting any better.
I may be partial because I have always loved the Herb Lamb wines, but glad that I still have another bottle.

Not what I expected from d'Angerville.
A little green-ness, seems a little oxidized... wonder if it would open with a little more air or short decant.
Glad this was my last bottle of this vintage.

Sour, not very enjoyable. Could just be the one bottle, but kind of glad I don't have more.

This wine is in incredible condition. It is possibly better than I remember from a few years back. Can't help but think this can go a few more years, but not sure it will get much better than it is right now.

Quite beautiful. Still has very nice fruit and floral aromas with well balanced acidity. Slight earthy notes on the palate.
Probably has a few years left, but in a very nice spot at 17 years old.
Wish I had a few more bottles.

In a lovely spot right now. Quite good with a couple hours of air. Would recommend having the 05s before the 04s or 06s.

Beautiful wine in a great spot. Tannins are well integrated with nice acidity. Fruit and floral notes initially that gave way to more ethereal notes. Always a great QPR.
This certainly has some life ahead of it. No need to rush but drinking very well at the moment.

Day 1 was very closed.
Day 2 a little more open and generous.
I would still wait a few more years as this clearly needs some more time. certainly has potential to improve.

Still has a lot going on, very good nose with nice fruit and slight herbal qualities.
Drink now. drink 03 before the 02.

Still has a nice level of acidity at 21 years old. There is a little bit of fruit, but this has taken on more ethereal and floral notes.
Not sure more bottle age will provide additional benefit. Just a very nice wine at this point.

Cherry and leather. Tannins still a little grippy. Very nice, but could definitely use a few more years.

Cherry and tobacco. Tannins are still a little grippy early on. After a few hours in decanter this loosens up a bit. Could use a few more years, but is definitely drinkable if given plenty of air.

Big nose. Lots of blackberry, quite meaty with notes of pepper and olive. Drinks well now, but no rush as it certainly has time left.
not the best QPR, but with pretty much every quality wine increasing in price it's not the worst QPR either.

Quite tannic. The wine has a reasonable amount of spice with hints of tobacco wrapping around beautiful dark fruit.
This will certainly evolve and potentially soften with a few more years of bottle age.

More full bodied and fruity, less floral than most volnays. Some tannins. Definitely has many years left. Will probably wait a while before opening next bottle. Still quite enjoyable though.

Still a bit tannic and more masculine that a typical Asili. Other than that, an very nice wine with some red fruit and slight touch of spice. Plenty of years ahead of this one.

Took 4-5 hours to open, but once there it was quite beautiful. Big spicy nose, on the palate very dark fruit with spice. Quite tannic, but softened after a few hours.
This wine has a long way to go. Probably needs another 5+ years.

Dark red fruit and spice. Not a showstopper but a decent CA cab. I think the 05 was a much better and more complete wine.

Bold nose of dark fruit and spice which continues on the palate. The fruit, spice, tannins and alcohol are all well integrated.
Really like this. No need to be in a rush to drink this as it will last for at least 3-5 more years.

Perhaps it will be better on second day.

Plenty of dark fruit with some tannins still present, but fairly smooth.
A little spice and a slight hint of dirt round this out nicely. Overall quite good. Don't think there is really much room for improvement with additional age, but certainly not at risk of dying any time soon.

This is in a really good place right now. There should be no need for continued cellar time, though it won't kill it. Very nice floral, tobacco and spice. Tannins are where they should be on an 18 year old barolo. Not for everyone, but I quite enjoyed this bottle.

Wow, what a wine! The nose is huge, and the palate follows suit.
Blackberry, spice, tobacco, black olive. Just outstanding. Doesn't seem like this will run out of steam any time soon, so no need to rush to open. Could use just a hint more acidity, but that is nitpicking a little bit.

No need to rush on this as it would seem to still have at lease 3-5 years left in it. Fruit is still there with a bit of spice as well. Tannins are pleasant. Just an all around good wine. I have never been disappointed by Herb Lamb Cab and it remains one of my top 3-5 CA cabs at the price point.

3 hour decant shows that this wine may need a little more time in bottle. Rose, cherry and spice from the nose to the palate.

Bright aromatics of rose and red fruit. A touch of spice brings an additional element to the pleasant acidity. A quality pinot that is drinking well at the moment, but would not suffer from a little longer in bottle.

Smooth tannins with a slightly sour red cherry and a bit of spice with a lovely aroma. Good length. Certainly provides a sense of the Chianti region. A very beautiful bottle that is drinking well now, but would certainly survive a few more years in the cellar.

The spice from the oak and tannins aren't quite completely integrated. Dark red fruit poking through the spice. A brutish wine that can only soften and improve over the next 5-10 years.
