June 17, 2016 - Have tried 2X this week. Once with couple hour decant and the other pop and pour. No improvement with the decant as this needs several more years in bottle. Old world style with tons of acid and tannin. Some blackcurrant, forest floor, and anise come through.

May 30, 2016 - Fairly dark fruit - dark cherry, currants, and a touch of plum. Really smooth/fairly full fruit mid-palate. Fairly rich with a nice purity and elegance. However, I didn't care for the finish. Before verifying the blend I turned to one of our guests and said there is a fair amount of carmenere which I just didn't care for - presents a very sweet/somewhat tart finish. 77% cab, 16% merlot, 4% carmenere, and 3% malbec. Decanted for one hour and drank over another three. Improved some with time but appears to be at a nice drinking point. Drank next to a 2013 Quivet napa cab, 2012 Switchback Ridge Peterson cab, and 2012 Lewelling cab and I thought the Leonetti was clearly the most disappointing of the four. Frankly I had a hard time drinking the Leonetti next to the other three. Probably should have had the Leonetti by itself in light of the blend.

April 9, 2016 - Opened at about 3:00 in the afternoon and decanted. Left out for about an hour and poured back in the bottle to take to a friend's home for a celebration. Wine has a wonderful full body nose and is well integrated with a full body finish. I do think that this wine needs some more time or could have sat out longer before consuming. We will let the other 2 bottles we have sit for longer before opening and enjoying.

February 16, 2016 - Really liked this wine, although it did take more than 90 minutes to start opening up - exceptionally balanced and flavorful. Need to get me some more of this ...

December 21, 2015 - A bit tight. Not as good as the Merlot.

(Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley) An aromatically compelling, complex wine with seductive aromatics of sage and other herbal notes, earth, high-toned black cherry, red fruit, roasted espresso bean, and whiffs of licorice. Rich and broad on the palate without being weighty with incredibly pure, focused, fruit flavors. The tannin integration is beyond exceptional. Hangs and hangs on the finish. A beautiful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon. Give two plus years. 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 4% Carmenère, 3% Malbec. Mill Creek Upland, Loess, and Seven Hills vineyard. Aged 22 months in new and neutral French oak. 14.6% alcohol. 2,980 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
